LUMIX's commitment to picture-making
Unparalleled realism
New 25.2MP Live MOS sensor
The LUMIX G9II's uncompromising image quality captures your decisive moments in ultra-realistic detail that makes you feel you’re there. The new 25.2MP Live MOS sensor with Phase Detection AF delivers richer tonal expression, with a significant improvement in capturing shadows when shooting in RAW. With no low-pass filter, its design allows both for more pixels and higher resolution, and the ISO100 setting is ideal for outdoor shooting. In addition, its higher readout speed delivers C4K/4K 120p video recording and 75 fps burst shooting using the electronic shutter, while also minimizing rolling shutter distortion.
Twice the processing speed
A new-generation engine
The latest engine delivers approximately twice the processing power, enabling high-speed processing of higher-resolution, higher bit-rate video. It is endowed with technology developed jointly by LEICA and LUMIX. The combination of the new sensor and engine realizes both Phase Detection AF and high image quality for photos and videos.
Dynamic Range Boost
Dynamic Range Boost acquires two types of images with a single exposure and synthesizes them in real time to create composite images with rich tonal range even in scenes with significant luminance differences. With still images, it allows for richer expression of shadow tones in RAW data. With video, it enables 13+-stop dynamic range and wide color gamut V-Log/V-Gamut recording.
・This function is applied automatically.
・Dynamic Range Boost is not activated when shooting video/slow & quick shooting at speeds higher than 60 fps, or with SH burst shooting.
・Dynamic Range Boost is not activated at shutter speeds slower than 1/15 during still image shooting, depending on the ISO.

100MP Handheld High Resolution Mode
The LUMIX G9II's High Resolution Mode supports hand-held shooting, using the Body Image Stabilizer (B.I.S.) mechanism to shift the sensor while capturing consecutive images. Then, it selects multiple steadiest shots and automatically synthesizes them into a 100-megapixel equivalent (11,552 x 8,672-pixel) file. This allows you to capture magnificent natural scenery and detailed works of art in ultra-high resolution without using a tripod. The LUMIX G9II supports RAW file recording, JPEG file recording, and RAW processing during playback, with quick access from the drive mode dial.

Infinite color expression
LEICA Monochrome
Leica is well known for its superior picture quality and has a reputation from users all over the world for its outstanding depiction and expressiveness. Through our L2 Technology collaboration, we learned the picture-making philosophy that Leica has built up over its long history and realized this mode as one of the new expressiveness of the LUMIX camera. It features deep contrasts between black and white.
・Compared to LUMIX’s L.Monochrome D, LEICA Monochrome shows brighter images on highlights, and generally strong and dynamic monochrome.
Easy color grading with REAL TIME LUT
LUTs can be applied to photos and videos on the camera body itself, allowing you to create photos and videos straight out of the camera. Supports ".VLT" and ".CUBE" file formats.
By utilizing this feature, you can save time on the complicated post-editing process. In combination with the LUMIX Lab app**, you can easily create your own LUTs and install them on the camera.

**Please update the firmware on the camera to version 2.2.
Live View Composite
The camera takes multiple images, creating composite images from only those areas that vary in brightness. This feature is convenient for taking images of the night sky that show the light trails of stars or fireworks. Each time the shutter is operated, a composite image is displayed, allowing users to shoot while confirming the results in real time.
Time Lapse Video with 4K 60p/50p
The LUMIX G9II supports interval capture to create time lapse video in the camera body itself and is also capable of 4K 60p/50p. Still photos can also be shot with V-Log or Like709 for outstanding handling in post-production. Exposure smoothing takes place during processing, resulting in beautiful time lapse videos with smooth exposure changes.
