Recently, we received a report from the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Ho Chi Minh City regarding fraud cases on social media community pages. Specifically, Vietnamese individuals impersonated employees of these companies to commit fraud related to job recruitment.
Summary of the incident: (Original notice from Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Ho Chi Minh City)
Vietnamese individuals wishing to work abroad, such as in Australia, exchanged information on social media community pages like Facebook. During this process, they were approached by individuals impersonating employees of Japanese companies in Vietnam. Through direct message exchanges, these individuals lured victims to access sophisticated fake websites that resembled the official websites of the companies, creating a sense of trust. They then asked the victims to transfer money as a processing fee related to recruitment, leading to financial losses. Additionally, according to received information, many Japanese companies in Vietnam have been impersonated in a similar manner.
Panasonic Vietnam respectfully recommend that all customers, partners, organizations, and individuals exercise caution!"
- Please do not click on or log into any links suspected to be fake websites. As scammers can skillfully fake logos and website interfaces of Japanese companies, please carefully check the authenticity of the website before providing any information.
- Be cautious of offers to participate in services to receive commissions or requests for transfers
- Be wary of individuals approaching you on social media (especially community pages about "working abroad" in countries like Australia) with attractive offers
- If you have become a victim of fraud, quickly report it to the nearest local police.
