PROFESSIONAL’S HAIRSTYLING TUTORIAL
BEACHY WAVES
WITH BRAIDED HEADBAND
Making Beachy Waves
STEP 1:
Sectioning hair for easy styling
Apply a heat protectant.
Bundle and secure the hair on the top of your head, and then
divide the hair on the sides and back into two sections.
Use clips to keep extra hair out of the way.
STEP 2:
Braid the lower half of your hair
Divide one lower half of your hair into three sections with your fingers,
and then braid the sections together while holding onto each end.
Make sure the braid is not too tight to create a soft beach wave.
STEP 3:
Press the braid with the
straightener and work
downwards
Clamp the top of the braid between the straightener plates and
hold for about 5 seconds, and then work your way down to the
bottom of the braid.
Repeat this step for the other braid.
*Make sure to allow the hair to cool fully.
STEP 4:
Curl the top section in a different style
Release the clip on the top section of hair to let the hair fall free.
Select a small bundle of hair (about 5 cm).
Twist and slide the straightener downward along the face line while holding
the straightener vertically to produce a wave with a glossy voluminous
texture.
STEP 5:
Repeat for the rest of the hair
Repeat these steps for the rest of the hair in the top section.
Twist and slide the straightener down through the hair for a
loose wavy style.
STEP 6:
Remove the braids and
tousle your hair
Remove the hair band, and then gently unbraid your hair now that it
has fully cooled to produce a rougher beach wave style.
Tousle your hair to blend the upper and lower curls to add definition
and appeal to this wave hairstyle.
STEP 7:
Complete the beachy waves
Finish your look with a little hairspray for that delightful beach
wave look.
A Tip for Style : The Braided Headband
STEP 8:
Take the bundle of hair to braid
Comb a smooth, even part horizontally from behind one ear
across the top of the head to the back of the other ear, and then
brush to smooth this bundle of hair.
Secure the rest of your hair with a clip.
STEP 9:
Braid a headband
Divide the bundle of hair to braid into three sections, and then gently
braid one small part of hair into the next across the entire section
from right to left.
Smooth and tighten each braid along the scalp as necessary.
STEP 10:
Complete the hairstyle
Braid the hair fully from right to left, and then secure the braid
with a clear elastic hair band.
Remove the clip to let down the rest of your hair.
