The new 18.1-megapixel High Sensitivity MOS sensor realises both high quality image recording and high speed signal processing. In addition, the Wavelet NR
(Noise Reduction) system*¹ in the Venus Engine enables deliberate noise reduction process without missing low-frequency noise by enlarging its detection area by approx.64x*². Edge Smoothing NR technology also helps rendering smooth edges even in image recording at high ISO setting.

The GPS (Global Positioning System) newly complies with GLONASS (Global Navigation Satellite System) to further enhance its detection accuracy for its increased number of satellites.
Easy Manual Conrol
You can set the aperture to control the depth of field, and adjust the shutter speed to freeze moving subjects or create a motion blur that exaggerates the feeling of movement. Plus, a total of 4 custom setting patterns can also be memorized to the camera (1 on C1 and 3 on C2).
