Within the framework of Ashui Awards 2022 ceremony last February, Panasonic was honored “Engineering of the Year” as a recognition for its patented nanoe™ X. This very title was achieved by Panasonic’s outstanding results that come from community voting (30%) and Judgement Board (70%), enabling the Japan-based brand to outweigh the other four nominators.

Nanoe™ X is a state-of-the-art technology that has been developed by Panasonic for the past 20 years with proven effects in inhibiting airborne contaminants, reducing odors while retaining skin and hair moisture. Nanoe™ X collects invisible humidity in the air and relies on high voltage to generate “water-coated hydroxyl radicals” (OH). The hydroxyl radical is known for being highly oxidizing and reactive, which enables them to inhibit the activity of pollutants. Wrapped in water, these OH radicals’ lifespan is extended from 1 second to 600 seconds, allowing them to spread to every corner of enclosed spaces.
Undergoing improvements, in its third generation released in late 2022, nanoe™ X can generate 48 trillion hydroxyl radicals per second, 100 times more than the first generation, thereby increasing its efficiency in filtering the air, inhibiting bacteria, viruses, pollen and allergens up to 4 times. The safety of nanoe™ X has also been tested by prestigious laboratories and organizations around the world. Currently, nanoe™ X is present in Panasonic's cooling and heat pump air-conditioners, FS products for small and medium buildings or VRF products for commercial buildings. The nanoe™ X generator is also installed by many car manufacturers.

“The current trend of green construction focuses on the quality of indoor air as a primary concern that balances between air purification, healthcare and energy saving. Our nanoe™ X technology inhibits mold, pollen, allergens, bacteria, viruses, and odors while keeping skin and hair moisturized. Particularly, nanoe™ X can operate independently of cooling and heating modes on air conditioners, with power consumption of only 25W, equivalent to an LED light bulb. This not only helps to clean the space but also save electricity, perfectly fit the idea of green construction. The user vote and Judgement Board’ scoring results re-confirm the values that nanoe™ X brings to consumers,” said Mr. Murakami Yusuke, Chief Operating Officer of Panasonic Air-Conditioning Vietnam.
