Jamie House is a photographer who sees herself as a visual storyteller; and in this session, she chose to highlight the themes of individuality and body positivity. In this lifestyle shoot with model Georgia Starns, she kept the photos “completely unretouched. The goal of this shoot was to play around with light and shadow, as well as color grading in post-production.” For this task she chose the Lumix G9 together with the Leica 12-60mm lens. The gorgeous results speak volumes about the synergy of a skilled photographer, excellent model, and top-notch equipment.
Using the G9 has become second nature for House: “I have been using the G9 as my main and only camera for the last two years. I know it so well, I don’t have to think of my gear, and just concentrate on getting the shot!” This gave her the freedom to switch up locations and experiment with angles. “It is the perfect tool for a shoot like this. I love the G9 for its lightweight and articulated screen! It’s handy to flip out the screen and shoot lower than eye level without having to crouch down to use the eyepiece.”
The richness of the features in the G9 have provided House with the opportunity to flex her creative muscles. Fashion photography means being in motion – a natural extension of her love for self-expression, playful lighting, and working with other creatives – and it’s important to have equipment that can roll with the changes. “I don’t have to worry about blurry images because the dual-image stabilization ensures that I get the sharpest image possible. The face/eye detection Focus Mode prioritizes focus for the face. Another important factor for me is getting correct color out of the camera, and the color science in the G9 is wonderful!”
House feels that having the G9 on hand has been transformative for her art, “completely changing the way I shoot.” And at Lumix, that kind of testimony is music to our ears.

Since discovering photography as a creative medium to share how she viewed the world, Jamie has been on a journey to find the specific niche of photography that incorporated shape, line, creativity, and community.
While she started off with a camera as an amateur at 16, attended the Savannah College of Art and Design, and then worked part time in for another company, she eventually found the creative outlet she needed in the fashion and beauty and product world. Along her journey as a professional photographer, she joined to the US Panasonic LUMIX Ambassador team and has been proud to represent the LUMIX brand at International conventions across the country.
