Fastest Way to Cook an Egg
One of the fastest and cleanest ways to cook an egg is in the microwave oven. In 50 seconds or under, a fluffy egg is ready.
Here is the way:
Lightly beat an egg to break up the yolk and white, it’s not necessary to blend the two completely. Line the base and sides of a small microwave-safe bowl with parchment paper (alternatively, use a small silicon mould that can hold one egg). If a softer, more tender egg is preferred, add 1-2 tablespoons of water or milk.
Pour the egg onto the parchment paper-lined bowl. Cook on Micro Power HIGH for 50 seconds or until done. If a wider bowl is used, the cooking time may be reduced by 10 seconds, then if the egg is not sufficiently cooked, continue to cook a little further. The result should be a fluffy cooked egg, It is easy to remove the egg – just tip it out of the non-stick parchment or the silicon mould.
