How to Choose an Air Conditioner for Your Office, Store or Restaurant

Packaged air conditioners are indispensable in making office, retail and restaurants comfortable.
But what if you don’t know what features and functions to look for? We’re here to help!

Reduce Electricity Bills with Energy-saving Products

It is said that air conditioning equipment accounts for the largest percentage of a day’s electricity bill in offices and restaurants.
To save money on electricity in your business, we recommend that you choose products with high energy-saving performance.

Power Consumption Ratio by Application per Day

Inverter-equipped Models are the Best Choice

Inverter vs Non-Inverter

Inverter:
After starting operation, as the air conditioner unit approaches the set temperature, it continues to operate while controlling its own power, allowing for fine temperature control and eliminating wasted electricity.

Non-Inverter:

After starting operation, the air conditioner unit runs at 100% power all at once, stops when the set temperature is reached, and turns on and off again at 100% power when the room temperature leaves the set temperature, thus requiring a large amount of power consumption.

Saves 324 RM on Annual Electricity Bill (R32 Inverter NX Series Deluxe)

The Inverter Deluxe model, which operates more efficiently, is more expensive than the Non-Inverter model, but it saves 324 RM on your annual electricity bill by reducing annual power consumption by about 48%.* If you plan to run your air conditioner for extended periods of time, the Inverter Deluxe model is by far the best value.

*Based on comparative tests of the following Panasonic products: R32 Inverter NX Series Deluxe (S-2430PU3HA-1/U-24PRH1H5-1) and R32 Non-Inverter (S-25PU1H5C-1/ U-25PN1H5-1).

Note: Annual energy consumption is calculated based on ISO16358-1. Operating hours: 8 hours per day x 240 days = 1,920 hours. Electricity Bill: 44sen/kWh, TENEGA NASIONAL, Low voltage commercial, 1-200kWh per month.

Models with IoT Functionality Save Even More on Electricity Bills

Save on Electricity Bills Remotely via Smartphone

Don’t worry if you think you may have forgotten to turn off the air conditioners. You can turn them off remotely with your smartphone, saving you even more on your electricity bill.

Save Electricity through Temperature Setting Adjustment

Have you thought of making temperature adjustments around opening and closing time when there are only a few customers in store? It is said that increasing the temperature setting of your air conditioner by just one degree can reduce electricity consumption by 10%. Easy monitoring of your air conditioner’s energy consumption and performance through your smartphone enables you to make energy savings at the most appropriate time.

Choose an Air Conditioner That Can Improve Air Quality

There are many problems that can affect air quality, such as odors, viruses, and allergens.
In places where many people gather, it is essential to create a comfortable environment by improving indoor air quality (IAQ).

Choose a Model with Excellent Energy-saving Performance and Air Purification Functions

NX Series

The NX Series are high-end models among Panasonic’s packaged air conditioners with IoT functionality.
Combining superior energy-saving performance with air purification functionality, this series is undoubtedly the perfect choice for those who want to improve air quality while reducing operating costs.

Of Course, Durability Is Also Important

Due to the characteristics of air conditioners, which consist of an outdoor unit and an indoor unit, there are many external factors that can lead to malfunctions. In particular, since the outdoor unit is installed outdoors, it must be protected from various external factors. Therefore, choose an air conditioner equipped with a function to prevent problems that hinder trouble-free operation before they occur.

Common Causes of Problems

Extreme Temperatures

Outdoor units may overheat due to inadequate heat removal when outdoor temperatures are extremely high. Choose an outdoor unit with a high operation temperature.

Intrusion by Geckos

It may come as a surprise, but geckos can get into outdoor units and get stuck on the internal PCB, causing it to short-circuit. Care should be taken in areas where geckos are common.

Water Leakage

Since the inside of the indoor unit will be colder than room temperature, condensation may occur, causing water leakage. Since this can cause mould and damage to the space beneath it, indoor units equipped with heat insulators are better.

Is the Outdoor Unit Chosen with Installation in Mind?

Ideally, outdoor units should be able to be installed on rooftops, on the ground, or in other locations that are easily accessible, as they will need to be maintained or parts replaced after installation. If the outdoor unit is too large, if the length of the pipe connecting it to the indoor unit is limited, or if it cannot be placed where you want to place it, you will have problems later.

Example of Poor Installation

You see this sometimes around town. Poor installation is not only unsightly, but can also result in extra costs for maintenance and repair/replacement.
