5-axis Dual I.S. 2

It's difficult to handhold a camera at the best of times, but don't fret: with the 5-axis Dual I.S. 2 (Image Stabilizer),* intelligent compensation comes to your aid. This is the equivalent to 7 doublings of exposure duration, meaning you can use a 7-stop slower shutter speed up to tele-end.** The LUMIX S1 eliminates shake in both body and lens even at the telephoto setting. It also works in both photo and video recording, including 4K video. The astonishing power of the 5-axis Body I.S. with 5.5-stop compensation power*** corrects shake for all lenses, even those not equipped with O.I.S.

Advanced AF and AI Technology

Super-fast lens and sensor communication of 480 fps and Panasonic’s DFD (Depth From Defocus) technology allow the LUMIX S1 to achieve an ultra-high-speed, high-precision AF of approximately 0.08 sec*. The S1 also boasts high-speed burst shooting at 9 fps (AFS) or 6 fps (AFC), and excels in low-light shooting, with -6EV* luminance detection performance in Low Light AF, thanks to the higher sensitivity and optimised tuning of the sensor. Advanced AI Technology detects specific subjects, like humans or fast-moving animals, and keeps tracking these subjects even when they are not facing the camera.

Dual Memory Card Slots

The LUMIX S1 offers two high-speed memory card slots, one supporting UHS-II SD cards and the other supporting XQD / CFexpress cards, providing multi-format options, extended recording and flexible data backup in the field.

Allocation Record mode allows you to specify the card slot to be used for recording for different image formats. Relay Record mode relays recording to the other card slot after the first card runs out of free space during recording. Backup Recording mode records the same data to the two cards.

Tough, Durable Design

The Lumix S1 is designed to be tough enough to withstand heavy field use, the camera structure is composed of a magnesium alloy full die-cast front/rear frame. Robust construction and a seal for every joint, dial, and button make the LUMIX S1 not only splash resistant and dust resistant but also freeze resistant down to -10 degrees Celsius. The durable shutter unit will withstand around 400,000 releases.
