Panasonic W95A Mini LED and W90A Full Array LED TVs bring new gaming and cinematic features

Today, Panasonic announces the W95A 4K Ultra HD TVs with Fire TV built in, offering the latest Mini LED panel technology, and the W90A with Full Array Local Dimming, with Panasonic Premium TV features, for immersive entertainment experiences and levelled up gameplay. With the Fire TV experience built in, Panasonic’s new TVs give customers high-quality, personalised streaming experiences.

The innovative models deliver a premium LED TV experience for TV and gaming enthusiasts who want to enjoy a high level of picture quality, personalisation, and connectivity at a reasonable cost. The W95A will be available in 55, 65 and 75 inch screen sizes and W90A in 43, 50, 55, 65 inches.

Panasonic Premium TVs combine the best quality features: Panasonic’s renowned picture and sound quality combined with an extensive range of apps —including streaming services, music and more— all rolled into an easy to use, personalised, content forward user interface. These TVs come with built in Fire TV experience and premium Panasonic features such as advanced gaming capabilities, including ultra-low latency, True Game Mode, and Game Control Board. Additional usability features include Penta Tuner, channel sorting, and a MyApp button in the remote control for easy access to your favourite applications.

Once content is chosen, the combination of Panasonic’s AI-enabled HCX Pro AI Processor MK II and FILMMAKER MODE with proprietary Intelligent Sensing gives users peak picture reproduction for a bright, clear image in any environment.

For cinematic gameplay, the new TVs are among the first in the world to support a 144Hz refresh rate for a smooth experience and higher frames per second (FPS), bringing the same iconic high-resolution graphics as Panasonic’s flagship OLED TVs the Z95A and Z93A.

A smarter TV experience

Panasonic’s new Premium TVs with Fire TV built in will enhance how you discover and enjoy content, seamlessly integrating your favourite streaming and live TV channels, apps, and tailored recommendations on one main home screen so you can quickly find what you love without the endless scrolling.

The W95A and W90A also come with the Voice Remote with Alexa, which makes it easy to launch apps, play music, search for titles, control your smart home and more, using your voice.

These new models also feature Fire TV Ambient Experience, which turns the biggest screen in your home into a beautiful, always-smart display. This transforms the TV into an in-home gallery, display for personal photos, and can show glanceable information like calendars and reminders through customisable Alexa widgets.

Gaming that delivers the developer’s vision

Bringing new layers of intensity to every gaming session, the W95A and W90A are Panasonic’s first LED TVs to deliver a Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) up to 144Hz.

Powered by HCX Pro AI Processor MK II, whether gaming through console or PC both can be synced seamlessly to show the same frame rate for the quickest response rates and smooth high-resolution game play.

But that’s not all, True Game Mode reproduces games as intended by their creators, bringing movie industry standard colour accuracy into the world of gaming. And gaming in Dolby Vision^® at up to 144Hz ups the ante with lifelike detail thanks to ultra-vivid colour, striking brightness, and dramatic contrast – transporting players into the world of the game.

Full customisation is also possible with Enhanced Game Mode Extreme, via an HDMI connection an upgraded intuitive Game Control Board gives easy access to the likes of viewing and sound modes, brightness, and the ability to adjust input lag and VRR. Here, RPG (Role-Playing Games) and FPS (First-Person Shooter) modes can also be switched on for subtle sound enhancements that give a competitive edge. Game Control Board can also be added to the MyApp button for even faster one-click convenience.

The W95A and W90A are also AMD FreeSync™ Premium² certified televisions, so gamers playing the latest consoles can experience fluid, tear-free gameplay.

Director approved picture quality

The latest Mini LED panel technology featured in the W95A brings enhanced backlight control with Local Dimming Ultra for the tightest reproduction of image brightness and darkness. This Panasonic engineering minimises the “halo effect” found on many LCD TVs, and a Quantum Dot Sheet brings further superior colour reproduction and contrast enhancements.

As for the W90A, Full Array LED delivers peak performance and exceptional value with Local Dimming Supreme that brings accurate colour and picture detail and quality.

These high quality LED TV panels, when combined with by HCX Pro AI Processor MK II and FILMMAKER MODE with Intelligent Sensing, ensure you enjoy your favourite content just as the creators intended.

Developed with Hollywood directors, FILMMAKER MODE with Intelligent Sensing delivers a cinema-quality experience whether your TV is in a bright living room or a dark cosy snug. Its accessible directly from your remote with a dedicated button so your viewing is always top quality.

Taking full advantage of this peak picture performance, a range of HDR (high dynamic range) offerings are supported – Dolby Vision IQ³, and HDR 10+ Adaptive. And thanks to AI, the TV knows when you’re watching sport, live music, or movies, and adjusts the picture and sound automatically for you.

Transporting you with sound and engineering

Our sound processing, combined with immersive Dolby Atmos^®4 audio, can make it feel like you’re sitting in the best seat in the stadium or the heart of the action during a role player game. Advanced realms of depth, clarity, and detail, creates an enriched experience to feel it all.

For that home cinema atmosphere that appeals to cinephiles and audiophile alike, the W95A also has Dynamic Theatre Surround Sound built-in, with an additional subwoofer that drives bass and elevates entertainment to new levels. An enhanced low end frequency range means every beat, explosion, and whisper are heard with crystal clear clarity and precision without the need for a separate speaker system.

Panasonic has also implemented many of the best features from its proprietary OS, such as Penta Tuner, which supports reception via the Internet (IPTV) and home network (TV>IP) in addition to satellite, cable and antenna signal types. This means TVs can be located independently of an antenna socket and programmes enjoyed in every room without the need for an extra TV connection.

Both the W95A and W90A come with the latest generation remote control too, including the unique Panasonic MyApp button that can be customised to have favourite apps, channels or even voice control commands at the touch of a button.

While HbbTV Operator App makes access to live and on-demand content possible without the need for hardware or smartcards, USB Recording makes for convenient viewing, and Auto tuner detection and advanced Channel Editor deliver an easy setup experience⁵.

The W95A and W90A will be available from select authorised retailers later this year.
