Panasonic has a long history of providing security solutions to MAHB. It began in 1996 when the Kuala Lumpur International Airport was at its later stages of construction. It was during this period that Panasonic was heavily involved in setting up KLIA’s multi-million security solutions. From 2009 to 2011, Panasonic took up a new challenge to upgrade the entire CCTV system to network IP based platform as part of MAHB’s operating requirements. CCTV aside, Panasonic was also involved in the coupling of Public Announcement Systems with Flight Information Display Systems. Its presence at other Malaysian airports are also notable, especially in the provision of integrated security solutions which begin from design, supply and installation, right up to testing and commissioning.
The IRDA is an important Federal Government statutory body, tasked with the objective of regulating and driving various stakeholders in both public and private sectors towards realising the vision of developing the Iskandar Malaysia region into a strong and sustainable metropolis of international standing. The site of development is situated at the southernmost tip of peninsular Malaysia. It covers an area of 2300 sq km and is expected to be completed by 2025 according to international best practices. In developing this project, IRDA will place strong emphasis on the enrichment of sustainable living among the Iskandar Malaysia residents.
Recently, Panasonic Malaysia was able to successfully secure a contract to supply 210kWp of HIT Photovoltaic panels to the IRDA Public Housing project (Perumahan Rakyat Iskandar) via a sanctioned contractor.
The HIT PV panels were chosen due to the advantage of their high energy conversion efficiency and space-saving dimensions. Besides being a testimony to Panasonic’s innovation and technology in the area of “Create Energy”, this initial project will pave the way for Panasonic Malaysia to further relationship with IRDA. And ultimately, introduce them to the rest of the Total Energy Solutions pillars of “Store Energy”, “Save Energy” and “Manage Energy”.
In strategic collaboration with a system integrator, Panasonic was commissioned to supply a series of System DLP Projectors and LCD Screens to the KLCC, as part of their latest AV systems upgrading programme. Panasonic’s flexible system installation, crisp picture quality and low total cost of ownership (TCO) ensured that the product standards were able to match the reputation of this internationally acclaimed state-of-the-art convention and exhibition facilities provider.
Through in-depth understanding of the client’s requirements and issues, Panasonic was able to successfully propose and install on the premises of the most prominent marine park in Malaysia with its total professional visual solutions at a relatively low total cost of ownership (TCO).
The range of products included System DLP Projectors, LCD Projectors, Plasma Display Panels, LCD Displays and Touch Screen Interactive Devices. These display solutions have proven effective in captivating, informing and educating the daily high traffic flow of international and local visitors, as intended by the visionary and environmental conscious client.

Panasonic even ventured beyond its scope as a supplier by offering its integrated services which encompassed the areas of design, proposals, installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance and after-sales service.
Over a number of years, Panasonic has been providing total integrated security solutions for application in various cities and states throughout Malaysia. The initial breakthrough came from the successful installation of wireless IP Network surveillance in Johor and Selangor.
Recently, 6 major policy areas known as the National Key Result Areas (NKRAs) was launched by the Federal Government, one of which is the prevention of crime through increased policing. In this area, Panasonic participated and was successfully appointed to supply the camera system for selected City/Municipal Councils and Police Departments around Malaysia.
The cameras are weatherproof and vandal-resistant, suitable for 24-hour live recording, real-time monitoring, storage and playback. Their main utilisation is for general monitoring, gauging traffic conditions and crime prevention surveillance with a combination of wired and wireless connection as the main transmission medium.
