Panasonic Manufacturing Malaysia Berhad held its 58th Annual General Meeting

Panasonic Manufacturing Malaysia Berhad (PMMA) held its 58th Annual General Meeting on 30 August 2023.

The meeting was held via Virtual Telecast and was chaired by chairman, Dato 'Azman Mahmud. After the opening declaration, Mr. Sugihara, the MD of PMMA, explained the company's performance in the last fiscal year and the direction of its future business, followed by resolutions on the agenda and answers to questions from shareholders.

It was reported that the revenue in the last fiscal year were 114% of the previous year and profit before tax was 172.2% of the previous year. It also proposed and approved an annual dividend of 122 sen per share, up 39 sen from the previous year.

In terms of growth strategies for the current fiscal year and beyond, Mr. Sugihara announced that PMMA would begin production of stick-type vacuum cleaners in September 2024, and that PMMA will continue to manufacture more functional products for core businesses such as ceiling fans and home showers, as well as launch new water-related business.

In an initiative to achieve zero CO2 emission, it was also announced that, in addition to the second plant (SA2) where solar panels have already been installed, the first plant (SA1) will also install solar panels with a completion target by February 2024.
