Panasonic Launches Green AC (Ambience Changer) Flex, Mist Generating System That Cools Outdoor Environments

Panasonic today launched the Green AC (Ambience Changer) Flex, an environmentally-friendly mist system designed for outdoor environments, in Asia Pacific. Featuring an ultra-fine mist system that generates cold air to lower outdoor temperatures by up to 4 degrees Celsius, the Green AC Flex not only consumes 70 percent less energy compared to conventional two-fluid systems, it can also be easily installed within existing outdoor structures due to its compact and flexible structure, making it ideal for use at outdoor attractions, malls, gardens, restaurants, events and public transportation waiting areas.

By using a 2-fluid nozzle¹ to generate an ultra-fine mist (Silky Fine Mist) from water and air, each mist particle - about the size of 6㎛ - works to lower temperatures rapidly through evaporative cooling, removing heat directly away from the skin. The small size of each mist particle also enables the Green AC Flex to emit sufficient particles to cool a large outdoor area of about 1.5 m in distance and provide a comfortable cooling sensation with almost no feeling of wetness even with close contact (about 0.6m).

Each Green AC Flex set consists of a mist nozzle for emitting the mist, and a sprayer with a built-in control panel and drive unit, which can be used with flexible resin tubing² for integrated design with pliers, pergolas and public monuments. The Green AC Flex also features a timer function³ that makes it easy to use even in places where daily operation is difficult to manually operate. Besides allowing for direct connection to drinking tap water, it also supports operation using an external water tank for places where it is difficult to lay water supply pipes, such as outdoor event venues.

¹A nozzle that mixes and sprays air and water. The compressed high-speed airflow crushes water into small pieces, which makes it possible to atomize mist compared to a one-fluid nozzle that sprays only with water.

²The maximum tubing distance from the sprayer to the final nozzle is 40 m. The distance between each nozzle can be adjusted from a minimum of 0.5 m to a maximum of 2 m.

³Operation start time and stop time can be set for each day of the week.

1. Ultra-fine mist "Silky Fine Mist"

By using Panasonic's original 2-fluid nozzle¹, it produces ultra-fine "Silky Fine Mist" particles with an average particle size of 6㎛ and delivers cooling sensation with almost no wet feeling even when sprayed on the body.

2. It makes you feel cooler by up to 4 degrees Celsius⁴

It can make a person standing about 60cm from the mist nozzle feel cooler by up to 4 degrees Celsius. By spraying from an appropriate position for adults, children, standing up or sitting in a wheelchair, it creates a comfortable space in various scenes.

3. Flexible installation with resin tubing

Since the sprayer and each mist nozzle is connected by resin tubing, the tube can be bent according to the site, and the height of the nozzle installation and the distance between nozzles can be freely adjusted². This makes it easy to retrofit existing structures. In addition, the control panel and drive unit are built into the sprayer and can be installed outdoors.

4. Supports a wide range of applications from temporary to permanent operations

In addition to direct connection to drinking tap water, it also supports operation with an external water tank. It features a timer function³ and supports the input of external control devices connected with temperature and humidity sensors.
