It has been 80 years since Panasonic sold its first hair dryer.
With each successive era, Panasonic has expanded the capabilities of hair dryers, from comfortable
hair dryers to dryers that result in beautiful hair.
Now, Panasonic’s hair dryers have become so advanced that they care not only for the hair but for the
skin and scalp as well. In this way, Panasonic hair dryers continue to evolve.
A history of how dryers have evolved
Driving the evolution of what hair dryers can do, pursuing hair beauty over 80 years.
Panasonic hair dryers have the support of women all over the world. It all began in 1937. This revolutionary device appeared in an era when hair was simply left to dry.
With the fashion world fueling a greater interest in hair styles, the hair dryer became increasingly common. Efforts were made to improve its design and make it even more usable.
The number of women who visited beauty salons grew, and with that the need for home-use dryers that dried quickly and efficiently, like the hair dryers with powerful airflows used by salons. The era of powerful airflow dryers had begun.
By the year 2000, in addition to just drying, there was an added demand for hair care. Panasonic therefore put to work the results of its proprietary research into hair. Panasonic developed ionic hair dryers, which delivered beneficial ions to hair while drying.
Panasonic then went on to use its proprietary nanoe™ technology in hair dryers. nanoe™ hold a thousand times more moisture than ions, and a new category of dryer was born: one that not only cared for the hair, but for the scalp as well.
