24.2MP CMOS sensor with Dual Native ISO technology

Whether you are taking stills or shooting video, the LUMIX S5II delivers uncompromising image quality, combining high resolution and a Phase Detection AF. Moreover, utilizing Dual Native ISO technology familiar to users of Panasonic Varicam models for professionals, the S5II leverages a dual-base ISO setting to minimize noise and maximize image quality from low to high sensitivity. This feature teams up with a new engine to deliver maximum ISO 51200 / Extended ISO 204800 for minimal noise at high sensitivity and beautiful expression of dark areas in the frame. Whenever professional-level low-light shooting is required, the LUMIX S5II is ready for action.

The new engine delivers approximately twice the processing power as before, enabling high-speed processing of higher-resolution, higher bit-rate video. It is equipped with technology invested and developed jointly by LEICA and LUMIX. Combination of the new sensor and engine achieves both Phase Detection AF and high image quality for photos and videos.
