Pursuing Usability in Video Production
Compact, lightweight and durable body
The minimal metal exterior provides uniform heat dissipation. The aluminum and magnesium alloy body frame offers heat dissipation, light weight of 585g, and durability. The result is superior functionality and a compact body.
Ethernet / PoE+ compatible camera
It is equipped with a LAN terminal, and by connecting it with a PC using an ethernet cable, it enables remote control of up to 12 units using LUMIX Tether for Multicam version 1.1 or higher* and IP streaming (RTP/RTSP protocol). Wiring can be extended in a shooting environment by using a wired LAN cable to expand your shooting options. It is also possible to supply power from devices that support PoE+ (IEEE802.3at compliant).
*The latest version of LUMIX Tether for Multicam is Ver.1.2. As of October 7.
Remote control with LUMIX Tether for Multicam
In addition to monitoring and remote control via USB tethering, you can control up to 12 BS1H cameras remotely via an Ethernet LAN. Users can also capture still images. With the LUMIX Tether for Multicam 1.1 or higher designed specifically for BS1H workflows, video production is simpler and more powerful.*

IP Streaming with PC (RTP/RTSP protocol)
Supports the IP streaming function via PC with a wired LAN connection. Conduct high quality live streaming with up to 4K 60p/50p (H.265 codec) using social media platforms.
Simultaneous SDI/HDMI output
The LUMIX BS1H addresses the diverse needs of a wide range of video productions with an SDI terminal (3G-SDI). Supporting 1080p output, it offers a stable connectivity, compliance with extended cable runs, and external monitoring. With support for simultaneous external recording via HDMI output and remote control via USB or LAN tethering, it delivers a wide range of video production capabilities.
Genlock IN and Timecode IN/OUT
With multiple camera control and live streaming uses in mind, the LUMIX BS1H offers Genlock IN. When used in combination with time code, it enables high-precision editing. Synchronizing to the frame based on an externally input signal, GenLock IN allows for perfect synchronization of multiple cameras for live sports and other challenging applications. Even when using a video switcher, feeds connect seamlessly. And time code is embedded directly in the video for high-precision drone shooting and other single-camera shoots.
Double SD card slot
Both SD card slots are UHS-II SDXC card compatible. Relay Recording allows relays recording between memory cards when the initial card becomes full during recording. Backup Recording allows the same data to be recorded to both cards at the same time. Allocation Record mode allows you to specify the card slot to be used for recording still photographs and video.*
*Still image shooting is available only when using the LUMIX Tether for Multicam software.
・SDXC Logo is a trademark of SD-3C, LLC.
Bundled cable lock band
To stop cables from accidently disconnecting during a shoot, the bundled Cable Lock Band can be used to secure the HDMI, USB, and DC cables together at the back of the camera. It’s made of flexible, easy-to-manipulate material and can be installed without a screwdriver.
Operation lock switch
The Operation Lock switch can freeze the operation of buttons and dials to prevent unintentional operation. The parts to disable can be individually set from the custom menu.
Frame Indicator (red/blue)
A red border indicating video recording and a blue frame indicating streaming can be displayed around the frame, so you will always know the status, helping you to avoid mistakes. This feature can be turned ON or OFF.
Frame marker
The frame marker is useful when vertical/horizontal cropping in post production is anticipated. Displayable aspect ratio frames include 2.39:1 and 2.35:1 for cinema and 1:1 and 4:5 for social media, providing a total of 10 patterns to select from.
Vertical video shooting
The camera detects the vertical orientation of video, so the image will rotate automatically when you play it back on your smartphone or other device. This can be turned ON or OFF.
Display modes to support videography
In Creative Video mode, a control panel is displayed that is similar to that of a professional cinema camera. There are three display options for Shutter Speed and Gain (Sensitivity): Sec/ISO, Angle/ISO, or Sec/dB. Providing access to familiar controls is another way to support smooth and convenient videography.
