Panasonic Cambodia has launched the 2024 edition of its Kid Witness News (KWN) Global Program, aiming to promote youth empowerment and development across the Kingdom. The KWN Global Program is an international filmmaking competition for students aged 10 to 18. It provides participants with Panasonic LUMIX camera gear and the opportunity to collaborate with experienced photographers and filmmakers. The initiative focuses on developing essential soft skills such as creativity, communication, and teamwork, while encouraging students to express their views on environmental issues and sustainable development.
To Represent Cambodia In This Global Competition Since Last Year
SCIA and PSIS have been selected to represent Cambodia in this global competition since last year. Each school will produce a short film for the primary and secondary categories, utilizing Panasonic’s state-of-the-art video equipment, which is provided at no cost. Additionally, Panasonic Cambodia will enhance this educational experience by offering lectures on equipment operation and video filmmaking techniques.

The short films created by the young participants will center on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This focus aims to provide a platform for discussing current global issues and fostering intelligent dialogue. Submissions from each participating country will be evaluated, and winners will be announced at the Global Summit on Thursday, October 26, 2024. Participants from 16 countries will have the opportunity to watch the event live online from Tokyo. Regardless of their physical location, children will join simultaneously via the Internet to view each other’s videos, participate in a video production workshop, and discuss social issues.
