Equipped for every signal
When it comes to receiving a signal, you can instantly breathe easily with Panasonic TVs. That’s because the sets are equipped to welcome any kind of signal, which means that there are no acquisition costs for external set-top boxes.
The Penta Tuner – for receiving any kind of signal
The new Panasonic TVs can process all of the main signal types – thanks to the Penta Tuner. Besides satellite, cable and aerial, two further convenient reception options are available in the form of Internet TV (IPTV) and reception via the network (TV>IP). With TV>IP, the sets are also equipped to receive TV programmes from the network of several servers. Using the existing infrastructure in this way dispenses with the need for expensive installation and special set-top boxes. In addition, many Panasonic TVs support the industry standard HbbTV Operator App, making it even easier to use the services of the relevant provider in hotels.
The Panasonic television sets are thus also ideal for simple DVB-S/C/T installations or for gradually replacing the TVs in existing set-ups. It is then possible to switch the entire system to a server-based operation at a later date.
SAT>IP client – inexpensive connection
SAT>IP is a standard used for the flexible distribution of DVB-S, DVB-T and DVB-C signals within the network. The received signals are initially converted by a SAT>IP server into IP signals and then forwarded via LAN cable, WLAN or PLC (power line communication). The Panasonic hotel television sets with the TV>IP client function and other SAT>IP-compatible sets can then receive the signals and your guests can enjoy full TV functionality.
An expensive set-top box in every room and complex wires are not necessary with TV>IP, which offers complete TV convenience with EPG, HbbTV, videotext and USB recording without any restrictions. What’s more, Panasonic TVs support both the unicast and multicast standard, which can be used to supply any number of clients independently with the TV>IP signal.
Installation is child’s play
Panasonic TVs intuitively understand each other, allowing you to use one set as a server and others as clients – without any annoying wires. In addition, all important settings that you have programmed on one set can be copied onto others in next to no time.
TV>IP server and client – give and take
You can supply two television sets with TV signals without the need for separate TV signal connections. This is made possible by setting up a DVB-via-IP server television with a wireless access point and adding another television as a DVB-via-IP client, making it ideal for suites with several rooms.
TV cloning – one for all
Panasonic TVs provide a really simple option for applying the configuration of one set to others. This simply involves copying the settings onto a USB stick. Once this USB stick is connected to another Panasonic TV, it automatically adopts the settings – especially useful when installing large systems.
Fast installation
You can quickly get down to business with the Panasonic TVs thanks to practical presets. In hotel TV mode and customised TV mode you will instantly find menu items that are relevant to setting up a hotel TV system.
Hotel TV mode. Simple. Practical. Good.
In the hotel TV mode menu, various standard settings can be selected, such as the initial channel and initial volume each time the television is switched on. The menu also features special settings for activating/deactivating certain functions on the television in order to prevent any unwanted changes to the TV set-up.
- Set the input signal
Define the input signal used each time the television is switched on. This will help you to ensure that guests always receive the TV signal set by you whenever they switch on the television. - Set the channel number
Define the TV’s initial channel. The advantage here is that if you have your own hotel TV channel, this will always appear whenever the television is switched on. - Set the basic volume
You can set the volume. By doing so, the TV will always be switched on at the same volume level. It goes without saying that guests can then adjust the volume themselves. - Set the maximum volume
Define the maximum volume level. The sound of the television will then be no louder than the volume set by you, which means that your guests in neighbouring rooms are not disturbed by the television being too loud. - Button lock (for the TV control panel on the side of the TV)
Panasonic televisions can also be operated using the control panel on the side of the TV set. If you do not want to allow your guests to use all of the functions, you can switch off or restrict the use of this control panel. - Button lock (remote control lock)
If you do not want to allow your guests to use all of the control elements or functions, you can lock buttons on the remote control or switch off or restrict the use of certain functions, such as access to the channel search. - Private information
With the private information function you can choose whether your guests’ private information – such as cookies, local storage and user account data – is retained or reset when the television is switched on. For example, if a guest has used streaming services and logged themselves in, all logins will be reset each time the television is switched on so that the login is not available to subsequent guests.
- Quick start
You can activate the standby function on the TV. This will ensure that the television remains connected to all networks and is instantly ready for use when it is switched on (with no long start-up time). - Welcome screen
On smaller installations with no hotel server or headends, you can welcome your guests with a fixed image – of your hotel, for example. The television will then display the selected welcome image whenever it is switched on. On larger installations, the TV generally accesses the hotel server. You can design the personal welcome screens via the headend. - DVB-C automatic channel list update
If the signal is received via cable, the DVB-C channel lists are automatically updated. On large hotel TV installations, the TV generally accesses the hotel server’s channel lists. In such cases, the channel lists are updated via the server. - Hotel portal and Guestment
On large hotel TV installations, the TV generally accesses the hotel portal’s server. In hotel mode you can define which remote control button is to be used for the application and how the hotel portal application is to be launched. Alternatively, you can of course also use Panasonic’s own hotel portal solution Guestment (see pages 12–15). - Hotel menu PIN
In order to prevent a guest from changing the hotel menu settings, you can assign a four-digit PIN, which must then always be entered before the menu is launched.
Customised TV (smart lock) – greater flexibility
Your guests want to use the TV as individually as possible and not have to spend a long time occupying themselves with the preferences of the previous guests. The customised TV menu helps you to ensure that standards can be set or restored, allowing newcomers to instantly get started with their own personal TV experience.
- Deactivate set-up and menus
Deactivating the set-up and menus prevents the unwanted modification of TV configurations. In customised TV mode you can block or unblock access to menu settings such as set-up, network, my home screen and apps. - Lock remote control buttons
You can lock unwanted buttons, such as those for the menu or for selecting the signal input, so that your guest can easily find their way around the remote control. This not only simplifies the operation of the TV, but also prevents your guests from making any changes to the set-up. - TV cloning with the aid of a USB stick for exporting/importing
You can use a USB stick to save all settings in customised TV mode and copy them onto another television.
One remote control for several TVs
Many Panasonic TVs support four different remote control codes, making it possible to control several TVs in a room with no disruptions.
An integral part of any smart home or automation system
Panasonic TVs can also be easily integrated into home automation systems and smart home systems. And those who want to display content from mobile devices on the big screen can do so at the touch of a button. Panasonic TVs are flexible assistants when it comes to managing your network.
There are various ways of operating a Panasonic television via the IP network. This is a real advantage for meetings and conferences in particular, but also when it comes to taking the smart approach to integrating the TVs situated in the rooms into the system controlling the other components, such as lights, blinds, etc.
