Challenge: To control the smell of cat and dog feces and urine in the clinic during busy periods
Seijo Kobayashi Veterinary Clinic had been taking various steps to create a better environment so that visitors could spend time in a pleasant atmosphere. To welcome 40 to 50 cats and dogs and their owners every day, the clinic took great care to eliminate odours and improve air quality by installing air purifiers and ozone generators in the waiting room and treatment rooms.
However, when there are many cats and dogs staying in the clinic or its pet hotel, their excretion inevitably generates a foul smell. Under normal circumstances, these odours are not so noticeable, but when many pets are present at the same time, it can become smelly. Therefore, the clinic began to wonder if there was a way to deal with this problem.
Solution: Reduce odours and improve air quality with quick effect through the introduction of ziaino®
Seijo Kobayashi Veterinary Clinic decided to take action by installing Panasonic’s ziaino® , an air treatment unit that inhibits pollutant and deodorises spaces with hypochlorous acid. This unit is safe to use not only in unoccupied spaces but also in spaces where people and pets are present.
“The effects of ziaino® are most noticeable first thing in the morning, when I open the door to the room where the cats are staying. The smell that used to fill the air is now almost non-existent,” says Yukihisa Imazu, Director of Seijo Kobayashi Veterinary Clinic.
The clinic was able to deodorise even the harsh smell of feces and urine in a room with multiple pets in a short time by running the unit in strong mode. Prior to installation, the clinic was concerned that animals with a keen sense of smell might not like the reactive odours produced during deodourisation. However, two months after installation, there has been no change in the reactions of the cats and dogs, and the clinic is very happy with the results.
