Maiko: True Face
In one of the world's most modern countries, just one street away from the bustling district in Kyoto, you can visit the hanamachi district and step back in time. The Geisha tradition in Japan has been carefully preserved for more than 300 years, and it begins with Maiko, the young apprentice. I came to Kyoto to document a day in the life of a Maiko, and open a window into this unknown world.

A Darkroom in the Palm of Your Hand
The world of photography is filled with the vivid expressions of people and the worlds they inhabit; so real that they look like you can almost reach out and touch them. Enjoy this world on a magnificent scale by creating masterpieces just like photographers used to do through sophisticated darkroom and printing skills.

Experiencing the Dreams of Oskar Barnack
The camera that Oskar Barnack dreamed of, with its carry-about convenience, compactness, and high performance, is still the ideal camera today. It has evolved even further with the innovation of the mirrorless design - as seen in the LUMIX DMC-GX7, the newest embodiment of that ideal camera.

Georgia: Past and Present
After having spent most of the 1990s photographing the wars and conflicts in the Caucasus, I returned to live in Tbilisi in 2008. The city I had known was recuperating from a civil war, with rampant crime and frequent power outages. In recent years, Tbilisi has turned into a laboratory for modern design and architecture and is fast becoming a new tourist destination. I am trying to take a look at this high-speed modernization, in a country with an ancient, often archaic culture at the edge of Europe.
BEHIND THE SCENES
Panasonic LUMIX GX7 Shooting Impression by Thomas Dworzak
BIOGRAPHY - Thomas Dworzak
After studying in his native Germany, Thomas travelled Europe and the Middle East, capturing the war in the former Yugoslavia, before documenting the conflicts in Chechnya, Karabakh and Abkhazia. A Magnum member since 2004, the decade after 9/11 saw Thomas extensively covering the ensuing wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, and their impact on US politics. Now based back in Georgia, Thomas continues to cover some news stories, such as the Arab Spring in Libya and Egypt.
Roman Renaissance
I'm working towards an exhibition in London next year - The Greatest Cities In The World. Over 40 years as a professional photographer I have been discovering these places – watching them and their people change and evolve. I have visited Rome many times before but not had the opportunity to explore and capture it the way I have so many other cities. When considering the 'Great' cities of the world Rome would certainly feature, but perhaps more so due to its reputation in antiquity as apposed to the Rome of today. I want to explore if Rome is still a Great City or if it that mantle is now nothing more than the Emperor's New clothes.
BEHIND THE SCENES
Panasonic LUMIX GX7 Shooting Impression by Ian Berry
BIOGRAPHY - Ian Berry
British born Ian made his reputation in South Africa, where he was the only photographer to document the Sharpeville massacre of 1960. The first contract photographer for the Observer Magazine, his assignments have taken him around the world, documenting conflicts and political and social transformations, for the likes of National Geographic, Fortune and Life.
The LUMIX GX7 renders 1920 x 1080 60p (NTSC Area) / 50p (PAL Area) high quality full-HD video with distinctive expression that can be offered only by single-lens camera. This is where the GX7's "hybrid camera" name comes from.
Directed & Filmed by Daisuke Ozaki
He was the art director in this project with the new GX7, which brought photographer Bernie DeChant for a commercial shoot on-location in Kyoto. He also wanted to create his first-ever web movie as a camera operator, to show by example just how easy it is to take movies with the GX7.
