23 September 2017, Hoa Binh, Vietnam – Panasonic in cooperation with Vietnam Environment Administration (VEA) – Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and Hoa Binh People’s Committee presented 3,000 orange trees for re-settlement compatriots to stabilize their lives. After the event, the company will continue donating 1,200 solar lanterns in Quang Nam and Quang Ngai provinces.

In terms of Corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities, every Panasonic employee is a nucleus who spreads the sense of responsibility and environmental awareness to local people and students nationwide through a variety of activities such as Eco Learning program, Kids Witness News program, No-car Day, Earth Hour, etc. Panasonic’s efforts and achievements in environmental protection have been recognized by the government and society by receiving the Vietnam Environment Awards presented by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment twice in 2011 and June 2017.

Panasonic employees together with local people in Ba Vi, Thai Binh, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa planted nearly 90,000 trees to improve the environment and quality of life for them. Not only does it directly benefit the local community, or contribute to the preservation of World Heritages recognized by UNESCO in Vietnam, Panasonic wishes to spread the message of environmental protection from every single employee of the company to the whole society.”
After the tree planting ceremony, on October 13, 2017, Panasonic will donate 1,200 solar lanterns to Minh Long, Tra Bong, Son Tay and Bac Tra My districts bringing clean light to Quang Nam and Quang Ngai provinces and continuing its journey of lighting up Vietnam. Moreover, the donation is contributing to overcome the severe consequences caused by the typhoon No.10 just landed in the Central, causing damage for local community, especially households located in the areas without electricity. The activity is a part of the project “100,000 solar lanterns” launched by Panasonic Corporation, towards the 100th anniversary in 2018.
