In Hanoi, on November 2nd 2013 at Nikko Hanoi Hotel, Panasonic Vietnam organized annual Kid Witness News Award Ceremony for 6 eight grade teams from 5 schools in Hanoi. Attending the ceremony there were representatives from Hanoi Ministry of Education and Training, Ministry of natural resources and environment, school administration boards and teachers.

This is the 8th year Panasonic Vietnam has been conducting the program. After the Kid Witness News was promoted in April 2013, our jury received many intriguing scripts. In June the jury selected the 6 best scripts from among nearly 30 scripts of teams representing secondary schools in Hanoi. They were invited to attend an interesting movie making course implemented during the summer holiday. Many students on the KWN teams said that they had an interesting summer holiday with the program, enjoying great experiences from the movie making process and a good opportunity to use advanced technology in movie shooting and editing. More importantly, they made many new friends and became much more confident in communication and teamwork skills.

During the program, the pupils have shown their creativity, the spirit of team work and passion in doing works of art and an ability in transforming scripts into meaningful movies. The films focus on the wasting of resources such as electricity and water and also show activities that have a bad impact on the environment. They also reflect communication issue in families and at schools through their humorous, but interesting view points.

This year, the movie “The Most Important Thing” will represent Vietnam for the Asia Pacific Regional Award Ceremony in January 2014 in Thailand.
