The Focus Stacking function enables you to adjust the focus area after shooting by combining multiple images. You can get an image with exactly the kind of defocus you want or pan-focus the image by simply selecting the focus area after shooting. This is beneficial when shooting macro shots of insects, small accessories and so on.

Have More Fun Selfies!

Enjoy the next level of selfie expression with hands-free shutter modes, a background control mode and panorama features. A variety of beauty functions let you shoot more attractive portraits. Soft Skin makes the skin look smoother, and Slimming thins the subject’s face lines. In combination with the Beauty Retouch mode, you get more attractive, more distinctive selfies.

Background Control

With Background Control, the [Defocus] function softens the area around the face, and [Clear] captures both the subject and the background clearly, for great selfies while traveling.

Panorama Selfie

Selfies can also be shot in panorama pictures, which is ideal for group photos and shots in front of a dynamically scenic background.

Buddy Shutter / Face Shutter

Buddy Shutter mode works when two people bring their faces closer together. Face Shutter mode is activated merely by covering your face with a waving hand.

Dual Shutter Button

The Fn3 (function) button provides an extra means of releasing the shutter when holding the camera in just your left or right hand for selfie.

You’ve taken some great images with the LUMIX GF9; now you want to show them off. You can instantly upload and share your pictures on social media using the ‘Panasonic Image App’ on a smartphone or tablet.

The LUMIX GF9 boasts a sophisticated design featuring leather-tone and metallic materials.
While offering a compact body and easy operation for daily use, it still cleverly manages to include a built-in flash.
Its stylish design also fits any situation, such as shooting on the street and while traveling.

Pixel-perfect Photos

Shoot high-quality, true-to-life images with excellent resolution, high contrast, and impressive colour reproduction. By removing the Low Pass Filter from the 16-megapixel Digital Live MOS Sensor, the limiting resolution has been improved while detecting high-frequency components to suppress the generation of moiré by the Venus Engine. Combining the Digital Live MOS Sensor and Venus Engine renders clear images with minimum noise even in low-light situations and a maximum sensitivity of ISO 25600.

Ultra High Speed Focusing

Capture even the fastest moving action thanks to DFD (Depth From Defocus) technology. It instantly calculates the distance to the subject by evaluating two images with different sharpness levels, and achieves ultra-high-speed AF and 5 fps burst shooting with AFC.
5.8 fps burst shooting with AFS is also available.

4K Video.
Life in Vivid Detail

Whether you are watching movies or editing videos, 4K delivers a far more intense viewing experience than you have seen before. Its native resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels is four times larger than Full HD, resulting in a much higher level of detail.

• When recording videos in 4K, use a card rated as UHS Speed Class 3.

L. Monochrome

L. Monochrome is a new option added to the Photo Style for more creative photography.
It produces impressive monochrome pictures with deep blacks and rich gradation like that of a B/W film.

Creative Control

With a variety of filter effects, Creative Control lets you add artistic and original expression to photos, panoramic photos and videos.

Light Composition

Light Composition function synthesises the images by choosing and saving a brighter pixel. This makes it possible to produce more luxurious, dramatic image of situations such as fireworks or night scenery in camera with ease.
