Enhanced Content Quality
Richer Tonal Expression
New 25.2MP BSI CMOS Sensor
The LUMIX GH7 incorporates a completely new image sensor. The new 25.2-megapixel BSI CMOS sensor delivers a richer tonal expression and improved AF performance through Phase Detection AF, helping you produce high-quality content.
Dynamic Range Boost
Dynamic Range Boost function acquires two types of images with a single exposure and synthesizes them in real time to create composite images with rich tonal range even in scenes with significant luminance differences. With still images, it allows for richer expression of shadow tones in RAW data. With video, it enables 13+-stop V-Log/V-Gamut recording. It achieves a wide dynamic range in all ISO sensitivity ranges.
・This function is applied automatically. ・Dynamic Range Boost is not activated when shooting HFR/VFR video of 61fps or higher, or with SH burst shooting. Also not activated at shutter speeds slower than 1/15 during still image shooting, depending on the ISO. When shooting video over 60fps (including VFR), latitude will be 12+ stop.
13+ stops of V-Log and V-Gamut "VariCam Look"
Offering compatibility with Cinema VariCam Look, 13+ stops* of dynamic range, and a very wide color spectrum, V-Log and V-Gamut come preinstalled. Users will enjoy impressively accurate color reproduction, subtle gradations from dark areas to highlights, and precise control of color data in post-production. The end result is more creative and satisfying color expression. Moreover, footage shot with the LUMIX GH7 can be seamlessly edited with footage shot with VariCam cameras.
*When shooting video over 60fps (including VFR), latitude will be 12+ stop.

Unlimited Video Recording Time*
Unlimited 4:2:2 10-bit C4K/4K 60p/50p Video Recording Time
Offering 4:2:2 10-bit C4K/4K 60p/50p internal recording, the LUMIX GH7 delivers unlimited recording time* when used at the recommended operating temperature**. Ideal for small production teams and in demanding conditions where mobility and high-quality are a must. Also allows for simultaneous internal recording and external recording via HDMI output.
*Under the guaranteed operating environment. When using a battery. The recording time depends on the capacity of the battery and the recording media. **-10–40℃. ・Corresponding to 4K (4096×2160) as defined by Digital Cinema Initiatives (DCI). ・CFexpress card or an SD memory card with Video Speed Class 90 is required.
Open Gate Video Recording
With 5.7K 4:2:0 10-bit 60p/50p (17:9) and 5.8K 30p/25p/24p 4:2:0 10-bit (4:3) modes, the LUMIX GH7 offers higher resolution and higher bit rates than ever before. Moreover, Open Gate recording enables flexible framing for any social media platform or client needs.
HFR (High Frame Rate)
High-resolutions slow-motion recording, a recent trend in video production, is made possible using C4K/4K 10-bit 120p/100p video recording with audio. The LUMIX GH7 also offers a wide range of recording modes for high-end editing. FHD 240p/200p 10-bit ALL-Intra recording allows you to create unforgettable images with effects such as speed ramping. Or shoot high-resolution 5.7K 10-bit (17:9) and 4.4K 10-bit (4:3) video at 48p. You can even shoot double slow-motion video at the cinematic frame rate of 24p. Allows tracking AF during HFR video recording.*
*When shooting at 120.00p or lower with a compatible lens.
VFR (Variable Frame Rate)
Offers up to 12.5x super slow-motion (FHD 24p/300fps) video at 10-bit recording. Equipped with VFR (variable frame rate) recording, the LUMIX GH7 lets you easily overcrank or undercrank your video while shooting. With quick motion up to 60x (C4K/4K/FHD 60p/1fps), the LUMIX GH7 also offers a wide range of recording modes for high-end editing, including 4:2:2 10-bit ALL-Intra (C4K/4K 60fps, FHD 240fps) and 5.7K high-resolution recording.
Dependable Autofocus System
Phase Hybrid AF
The most important thing with autofocus is to be dependable. In addition to contrast AF, the LUMIX GH7 offers the Phase Detection AF system, which dramatically improves subject tracking performance and metering technologies. The camera can capture the subject even in challenging scenes where multiple subjects are involved, delivering accuracy even in backlit or low-light environments.
Human/Animal/Car/Motorcycle/Train/Airplane
The LUMIX’s advanced detection AF pushes the envelope on of sports, wildlife, and and car/motorcycle photography. More accurate human body recognition enables you to single out a subject from among a field of athletes, for example, and shoot continuously.
The LUMIX GH7 can now recognize a wider range of subjects and target parts, including human and animal eyes, the front of vehicles, the helmets of drivers and motorcyclists, the frontmost car of a train, or the nose of an airplane.
Easy Hand-held Shooting
Great for Shooting on the Move
Active I.S. + Advanced E.I.S.
The LUMIX GH7 also makes it easy to shoot video on the move. Active I.S. determines the status of camera shake and optimizes correction ratios to compensate even for significant motion, while advanced E.I.S. suppresses perspective distortion that occurs during video shooting. You can use High Mode to compensate for even greater motion, meaning that you can enjoy blur-less shooting, even if you start running with the camera still rolling.
Hand-held Shooting on the Move
7.5-stop B.I.S.
Handheld shooting can be challenging. The LUMIX GH7 makes it a bit easier. B.I.S. with 7.5-stop compensation power corrects camera shake, meaning you can use up to 7.5-stop slower shutter speeds.* At telephoto range, where B.I.S. is reduced, 7.5-stop 5-axis Dual I.S. 2 provides powerful compensation,** allowing you to express your creativity without limitations in low-light environments and at telephoto range.
