LEICA DC Lens with
Folded Optics Technology

The DMC-TS5 features a high-quality LEICA DC lens with 4.6x optical zoom from 28 mm wide-angle (35 mm camera equivalent: 28 - 128 mm). The folded optics shaft guide method is adopted to secure the toughness of the lens unit. Passing LEICA's stringent standards, this lens delivers exceptional optical performance to the edges. And, the anti-fog glass for the lens cover prevents it from becoming foggy.

POWER O.I.S.

The POWER O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer) suppresses the low-frequency vibration hand-shake component, which is physically generated when pressing the shutter button or when shooting at night with a slow shutter speed. The O.I.S. also works for powerful zoom shots, which are especially susceptible to hand-shake.

16.1-Mpx MOS Sensor

The 16.1 megapixel High Sensitivity MOS sensor boasts high-speed signal output and high-sensitivity image recording for making many advanced features possible. It also allows shooting images up to ISO3,200 in full resolution.

Creative Panorama

The Creative Panorama mode lets you apply artistic effects to panoramic images. You can choose from various effects to create a dynamic vertical / horizontal panoramic image with a unique touch just by swiveling the camera.

Creative Control (in recording mode) and Creative Retouch (in playback mode) gives you the expressive power to turn ordinary situations into highly special scenes.

Time Lapse Shot

Leave the camera to record stationary observation subjects such as flowers coming into bloom or slow moving clouds. The series of sequential images can be combined to produce a time lapse video.

Torch Light

The torch light helps to record beautiful videos even in dusky underwater environments or at a nighttime camp. It is possible to use it as a light even while the camera function is not activated.

Stereo Microphone

The videos also come with the high-quality stereo sound of Dolby^® Digital, to offer realistic sound to the motion images. The stereo microphone comes with a zoom noise reduction system, and Auto Wind Cut function to block most of the noise from background wind.

Quad Indicator

The DMC-TS5 is specially designed for active outdoor use. It adopts GPS, compass, altimeter and even a barometer to show and record altitude, barometric pressure and orientation data. The barometer also indicates depth underwater.

Manual Exposure

You can set the aperture to control the depth of field, and adjust the shutter speed to freeze moving subjects or create a motion blur that exaggerates the feeling of movement.

iA (Intelligent Auto) Mode

With iA (Intelligent Auto) Mode, the camera does all the work, leaving you free to compose your shot and capture the moment. Simply press, aim and shoot. The detection and correction functions go to work to give you beautiful photos and videos* with maximum ease.
