Ultimate Picture Quality Exceeds Expectations

The DMC-GM1 boasts not just an outstandingly compact profile, but it is highly functional in performance and picture quality. The large 16.0 Mpx Digital Live MOS Sensor achieves both high resolution and high sensitivity image recording with less noise. Venus Engine features its advanced noise reduction systems which helps produce clear, smooth images especially in low light situations. In addition, you can capture images of fast moving subjects without blur using the 1/16,000 second shutter speed.

Low Light AF

Low Light AF is incorporated making it possible to set focus on the subject more precisely in situations such as moonlight, even without the AF assist lamp. It works in -4 EV lower light situations, such as dark or starry skies with no other light source.

Pinpoint AF

Pinpoint AF is improved by allowing you to set magnification from 3x to 10x, in increments of 0.1x step. Picture-in-picture display is available and the magnification ratio of in-frame picture is selectable from 3x to 6x seamlessly, enabling you to set precise focus on the target area while seeing the whole image composition.

One-Shot AF

One-shot AF enables the photographer to use AF even in MF mode simply by pressing the Fn (Function) button* to set a rough focus on the subject. The user can then switch back to MF to adjust precise focus.

The DMC-GM1 records smooth, high-resolution
Full HD 1,920 x 1,080 60i (60 Hz) videos in AVCHD or MP4* (MPEG-4 / H.264) format*. The DMC-GM1 also supports 1080/24p native mode with 24 Mbps in AVCHD format bringing impressive afterimage to the footage. In addition, the P / A / S / M mode also lets you enjoy expressive video recording. Thanks to optimum pixel-mix technology, made possible by improvements to sensor sensitivity, sharpness and clarity are improved in motion images too.

Time Lapse Function

You can set the recording start time, the recording interval, the number of pictures and automatically record subjects such as animals and plants as time elapses. The series of sequential images can be combined in the camera to produce a time lapse video.

Stop Motion Animation

The Stop Motion Animation function enables the production of stop motion (stop frame) video on the camera with pictures that were sequentially shot while moving the object by degrees. This effect gives the illusion of the object moving by itself.

3.0-inch Monitor with Touch control System

The touch control system integrated in the 3.0-inch large high resolution monitor [approx. 1036K dot], immediately lets you to set focus on the subject simply by touching the screen. The camera also allows you to take photos via the touch screen.

Built-in Flash

Despite its ultra compact profile, the DMC-GM1 integrates a built-in flash (GN5.6 ISO200･m / GN4.0 ISO100･m) which is helpful for daily snapshots.

iA (Intelligent Auto) / iA+ Mode

The iA (Intelligent Auto) mode allows users take beautiful pictures with a variety of shooting-assist functions including iHDR (Intelligent High Dynamic Range), AF Tracking, Intelligent D-range Control, Intelligent Scene Selector, Face Recognition and Intelligent ISO Control.

The Intelligent Handheld Night Shot generates blur free night scenery shots even without the use of a tripod. And, the iA+ Mode lets you adjust the defocusing area in the background, exposure compensation and white balance for more flexible control.
