Petr Slavik captures the passion of professional sports with the LUMIX G9II
Petr Slavik always loved the adventure out in the nature. He got into photography by riding his bike to the mountains, taking pictures there as a hobby and made a profession out of it. He is an awarded professional outdoor and sport photographer and videographer. Petr founded the Mountain bike project “Trail Busters” and is the official photographer for the national Czech Biathlon Team.
Ever since he discovered his first LUMIX Micro Four Thirds Camera, a GF1, he stayed with the system and worked with all kinds of different LUMIX G cameras over the years because it makes him mobile, more creative and allows him to go further and higher without limits. Having a camera that lets him jump from photo to video and vice versa, gives him the flexibility he needs in his daily work.
Petr is fascinated by the passion of professional sports and the challenge to capture these fast and special moments when adrenaline kicks in. He loves the compact and robust cameras, that let him focus on the speed of the action, the people, and the environment. He can have his whole camera kit in one backpack, running from one spot to the other, often in tough conditions like the snow or wild waters.
Being one of the first who got the chance to test the new LUMIX G9II and the renewal 100-400mm lens, Petr wanted to test the camera to its limits. He took it with him to the World Championships in (Wildwater Canoeing) in Augsburg (Germany), to the Julian Alps and Soča river, the Trieste Adriatic Sea, and several Czech skate and dirt parks.
Petr is amazed by the fast and accurate autofocus with the new Phase Hybrid Autofocus and Recognition technology which lets you get every image sharp; the ergonomics of the camera and the high-speed performance, letting him shoot up to 120fps and 300fps Slow motion, which is a huge advantage for action sports. Especially in outdoors sport photography it is essential to have good burst shooting to catch crucial moments and big emotions, and to fully trust your camera to capture the situation instinctively with quick response. The improved Image Stabilization replaces a gimbal in many situations for videographers and the weather resistance of the camera, enables him to always be close to the subject where the action takes place, no matter how challenging the adventure is. The new LUMIX G9II already is added to his favorite camera kit from now on.
