Ergonomic and easy-to-use design

Sudden video and photo opportunities are easy to capture, thanks to a new design that makes single-handed shooting a breeze. The HX-DC2 camcorder’s vertical grip is easy to hold, while the twin-shutter system and joystick menu control let you do everything with one hand. The camcorder also features a rotating 3” wide-screen LCD monitor that allows the brightness to be adjusted in seven levels.

Record beautiful movies and photos

The HX-DC2 shoots Full-HD (1920 x 1080) movies, so you can save your memories in stunning image quality and watch them on a large-screen TV. Even still images are captured in brilliant 14-megapixel high resolution, making this camcorder a very versatile choice.

Zoom in close without the blur

In addition to a 5x Optical Zoom, the new high-quality image engine of the HX-DC2 camcorder lets you shoot videos with a maximum 15x Intelligent Zoom* without affecting image quality. Active E.I.S. (Electrical Image Stabiliser) enables handheld zooming without blurring, giving you a more flexible video and photo shooting range.

iA (Intelligent Auto) offers effortless professional results

This powerful function senses the shooting conditions and automatically changes the settings and activates functions that will deliver optimal results. With movies and still photography, iA makes it easy to capture beautiful, well-focused images. You can also add more fun to your shots by using the camcorder’s creative features such as Panorama Mode, where you simply pan the camera up, down, left or right to capture vertical and horizontal panoramic images; High Speed Reverse Consecutive Shooting creates a series of consecutive still images at the press of a button; and Burst Shooting** captures up to 10 consecutive fast motion images.

Edit your movies and upload them in an instant

The HX-DC2 Vertical Full Definition Camcorder records in MPEG-4 AVC file format (MP4) for easy file transfers - and the camcorder includes HD Writer VE 2.0 Software, so you can upload to social networking platforms - such as YouTube™ and Facebook™ - in an instant***. You can also record videos using iFrame™, ideal for both Mac and PC users. Other convenient connectivity features include a memory card slot**** and a mini HDMI***** port allowing playback from your Full HD TV.

* When using the 15x Zoom, switching is required by pressing the Double Range Zoom button. When the Active E.I.S. is turned on, the zoom is 12x. When shooting photos, the maximum zoom is 5x.
