The DMC-G6 integrates 16.05-megapixel Digital Live MOS Sensor with Venus Engine that features advanced noise reduction systems. Noise is removed in multiple steps according to the noise characteristics, realising both smoothness and sharpness according to the part of the image. In addition, the limit resolution is enhanced thanks to precise detail reproduction and advanced Intelligent D-Range Control that ensures beautiful gradation with a wider dynamic range.

Low Light AF

The Low Light AF in DMC-G6WGN-K gains higher performance at night even without AF assist lamp to set focus on the subject more precisely. Combined with the Full-Area Touch AF, it is possible to focus on any point in the field of view, and realise an intuitive focusing operation with a free frame composition.

Light Speed AF
and Burst Shooting

The DMC-G6WGN-K features high-speed Light Speed AF, making it possible to capture fast moving subjects more clearly. The speed and accuracy of AF in DMC-G6WGN-K surpasses high-end DSLRs with its phase difference. The camera and the lens exchange the digital signal at max. 240 fps to minimise the time of focus. The DMC-G6WGN-K realises the high speed burst shooting at 7 fps in 16.05 megapixel full resolution and max. 40 fps using an electronic shutter. Also, AF Tracking enables consecutive shotting to capture moving subject in sharp focus at 15 fps.*

The DMC-G6WGN-K records stunningly smooth, high-resolution full-HD 1,920 x 1,080 60p* videos in AVCHD Progressive (MPEG-4 / H.264) format. The DMC-G6WGN-K also supports 1080 / 24p native mode with 24 Mbps in AVCHD format bringing impressive afterimage to the footage. The full-HD 1,920 x 1,080 60p* video can also be recorded in MP4 at 28 Mbps, to play it back directly on the PC or other portable electronic devices without a need of conversion.

One-Touch Connection and
Picture Sharing with NFC

With NFC (Near Field Communication) technology, you
can connect the camera with a smartphone / tablet by just
bringing them together. What is new is that the Wi-Fi® setup
is extremely easy and finishes within a few seconds,
making it possible to pair the camera directly to the
smartphone / tablet without connection procedure of
information input for authorisation.

· The appropriate pairing position of devices varies depending on
the products.

Creative Control

The popular Creative Control mode is upgraded by
increasing its filter option from 14 (for DMC-G5) to 19 (for
DMC-G6) adding new Old Days, Sunshine*, Bleach
Bypass, Toy Pop, Fantasy in addition to the conventional
Expressive, Retro, High Key, Sepia, High Dynamic, Soft
Focus*, Dynamic Monochrome, Impressive Art, One Point
Colour, Cross Process, Low Key, Toy Effect and Star
Filter* and Miniature Effect mode. Effect parameter of
each mode is also adjustable.

Creative Panorama

With the new Creative Panorama function, it is
possible to shoot a horizontal / vertical panoramic
image with consequent shots taken by overlaying
the previous picture and to put on a filter effect of
Creative Control*.

* Some filters of Creative Control cannot be used in
Creative Panorama mode.

iA (intelligent Auto) /
iA Plus Mode

For beginners of Digital Single Lens Mirrorless cameras,
iA (Intelligent Auto) mode supports taking beautiful
pictures with a variety of shooting-assist functions
including AF Tracking, Intelligent D-range Control,
Intelligent Scene Selector, Face Recognition and
Intelligent ISO Control. The Intelligent Scene Selector
now integrates Food Recognition mode. It detects food
on the dish and captures it to look delicious. The iA Plus
mode lets you adjust defocusing area in the background,
exposure compensation and white balance for more
flexible control.

Clear Retouch

Clear Retouch makes it possible to erase unwanted objects or figures in
an image by just tracing over them on monitor with a fingertip. They
naturally disappear without destroying the image.

Scene Guide

The Scene Guide* offers 23 sample pictures shot by professional photographers. You can choose
the one closer to the situation they are going to shoot and optimum parameters for shooting the
scene will be automatically set. Furthermore, shooting procedure, technical advice and
recommended interchangeable lens for the scene can be shown for you to learn photography.

* Video recording using Scene Guide is not possible in some scenes.

Manual Control
(Creative Video Mode)

The P / A / S / M mode lets you enjoy
professional-like expressive video
recording. Videos can also be recorded in
MP4 format for playback on a PC or other
portable electronic devices without having
to convert the files.

Time Lapse Shot

Record stationary observations of subjects such as flowers coming into bloom, or a scudding cloud. Combine these series of images in the camera to produce a time lapse video.

Stop Motion Animation

The new Stop Motion Animation function enables users to produce a stop motion (stop frame) video with images that have been sequentially shot on the device following small increments of movement of the subject. This feature provides a finished product that gives the impression of animation.

High Quality Sound

High quality sound can be recorded with Dolby®
Digital. A Wind Cut function is also available to block
out most of the noise from background wind. In
addition to the built-in stereo microphone, the DMC-G6
is equipped with a 3.5mm terminal for external
microphone to comply with serious sound recording.

The external mic DMW-MS2 (optional) suppresses
the camera's motor noise and handling noise, to
capture the sound that you're aiming for. Stereo and
shotgun mic switching is done from the menu.

Touch AF & Touch AE

With the Full-Area Touch AF, users can set focus on any point in the field of view and realise quick and intuitive focusing operation with free frame composition. In addition, the newly adopted Touch AE (Auto Exposure) function, allows setting focus and exposure with a single touch of the subject displayed on the display monitor.

With the Full-Area Touch Pad AF, it is possible to set focus on any point in the field which will realise quick and intuitive focus operations with free frame composition.

Mode Dial

The control on DMC-G6WGN-K is smooth and
easy with optimum layout of operation
devices. The newly added function lever
allows direct adjustment of allotted function
zoom*, exposure or aperture** control.
This lever works for magnification in
playback mode and page flip in menu.
