The World's Slimmest Body
The new DMC-XS1 features a stylish flat body profile with an eye-catching two-colored design, and the world’s slimmest body profile* thanks to the Panasonic’s advanced optical design and development technology*. Photo and video data are recorded in ultra-small microSD / SDHC Memory Card, which also has high acceptability of major smartphones.

5x Optical Zoom with 24mm Ultra Wide-angle Lens
The DMC-XS1 features a 24mm ultra wide-angle lens* with 5x optical zoom (35mm equivalent: 24-120mm) in an ultra-slim body. The 24mm ultra wide-angle lens gives you a wider range of composition possibilities with approx. 213% larger viewing space compared to that of 35mm camera.
* Converted to standard 35mm camera equivalent, at the wide-end.
Creative Panorama
LUMIX lets you apply artistic effects to panoramic images. You can choose from various effects to create a dynamic vertical / horizontal panoramic image with a unique touch just by swiveling the camera.
MEGA O.I.S.
(Optical Image Stabiliser)
The MEGA O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabiliser) compensates for the blurring caused by hand-shake. Apart from the digital image correction, MEGA O.I.S. corrects a jolt of light axis by shifting the O.I.S. lens unit to offset it. Thus the image is not affected digitally nor deteriorated at all.
720p HD Video Recording
You can record HD video in Motion JPEG format (1,280 x 720 pixels at 30 fps). Recording motion image can be started with a press of an independent motion picture button, which is extremely convenient for you to switch photo / video shooting instantly.
Creative Control / Creative Retouch
The Creative Control (in the recording mode) and the Creative Retouch (in the playback mode) give you the expressive power to turn ordinary situations into highly special scenes.
iA (Intelligent Auto) Mode
In the iA (Intelligent Auto) Mode, the camera does all the work, leaving you free to compose your shot and capture the moment. You just press, aim and shoot. The detection and correction functions go to work to give you beautiful photos and videos* with maximum ease.

Sonic Speed AF
The Sonic Speed AF gives the DMC-XS1 super high speed response that helps to catch even the most fleeting photo opportunities.
AC / USB Battery Charging
The DMC-XS1 complies with USB power charging in
addition to the conventional AC power supply. The
efficient, rechargeable lithium-ion battery lets you take
approx. 260 shots on a single battery charge*.
