AFC 30fps burst shooting

Thanks to the new sensor’s higher readout speed and new engine’s superior processing power, the LUMIX S5IIX delivers AFC burst shooting using the electronic shutter at 30 frames per second with 24.2-megapixel resolution. The sensor’s higher readout speed also minimizes rolling shutter distortion.

Firmware version 2.0 offers advanced flexibility with a choice of 0.5, 1.0, or 1.5-second pre-burst settings. Now you’ll never miss that decisive moment, even in the most dynamic situations, from the flapping of a bird’s wings to an unexpected play on the field.

96MP ultra-high-resolution recording

In the High Resolution mode, the camera automatically captures consecutive images while shifting the sensor, and the new engine’s high-speed signal processing smoothly synthesizes them into a 96-megapixel equivalent (12,000 x 8,000-pixel) image. This allows you to capture magnificent natural scenery and detailed works of art in ultra-high resolution. The LUMIX S5IIX supports RAW file recording, JPEG file recording, and RAW processing during playback, with quick access from the drive mode dial.

With firmware version 1.3, the shutter speed at high resolution mode can now be set to max 8-second with the long exposure noise reduction applied. Thanks to the image stabilizer, Handheld High-Res mode* has been added to enable recording pictures with higher resolution even without using a tripod.

*During Handheld High-Res mode, the shutter speed can be set at max. 1 second.

Live View Composite

The camera takes multiple images, creating composite images from only those areas that vary in brightness. This feature is convenient for taking images of the night sky that show the light trails of stars or fireworks. Each time the shutter is operated, a composite image is displayed, allowing users to shoot while confirming the results in real time.
