Sound features
State of the art surround sound with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X
The HTB900 and HTB700 feature support for the latest object-based audio formats Dolby Atmos and DTS:X that are revolutionising home cinema. By using upward-firing drivers which complement the traditional forward-firing drivers the HTB900 and HTB700 are able to bounce sound off the ceiling so that the listener can hear individual effects coming from all directions. The result is that when watching movies, the sounds of voices, objects and even music come to life and viewers feels as if they are inside the action.
Tuned by the audio experts at Technics
When sound quality is paramount, Panasonic were able to call on experts from its own acclaimed Hi-Fi brand, Technics. Tapping into to some highly renowned audio engineers and designers when developing the HTB900. Virtuosos from Technics tuned the HTB900 to ensure that the sound is not only the most refined possible but that the model’s audio output perfectly complements the visuals so that the listener feels a genuine sense of acoustic realism. The HTB900 proudly wears its ‘Tuned by Technics’ badge.
Berlin Philharmonic Hall Mode*
The HTB900’s new Berlin Philharmonic Hall Mode* faithfully replicates the magnificent sound field of one of the world’s greatest concert halls. From the comfort of their own home, listeners can feel transported to a concert hall with all the powerful resonance and delicate timbre of the orchestra’s different instruments. Berlin Philharmonic Hall Mode is ideal for listening to ‘Digital Concert Hall’, the video streaming service of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra.

High quality speaker systems
The SC-HTB900 has immense reserves of power and a carefully crafted array of speaker drivers that combine to deliver a dynamic yet acoustically refined soundstage from even the most sonically demanding of movie soundtracks. The soundbar boasts a substantial 505W of power, which is shared among six 6.5cm Mid-range speakers positioned across the face of the unit and a High-Res Audio compatible tweeter on each end. The SC-HTB700 achieves 376W output via a total of three 6.5cm Mid-range speakers positioned across the face of the unit to produce its immersive sound.
A new design for enhanced low-frequency reproduction
Both the HTB900 and HTB700 feature redesigned enclosures and cones while the low frequency range has been extended in the main unit. This fine-tuning has improved the clarity of vocals, allowing viewers to hear all of the dialogue through the main unit, so they can enjoy watching the movie without distraction.
A highly rigid cabinet for crystal-clear sound
The rigidity of the HTB900 and HTB700 has been increased by adopting a honeycomb rib structure, using a long port within the cabinet, and by increasing the thickness of the components. Any vibrations which might cause sound quality degradation have been suppressed, resulting in clearer sound quality. This crystal-clear sound delivers a more realistic cinematic experience.
Powerful bass with wireless flexibility
The HTB900 and HTB700 use a wireless subwoofer that requires no annoying connection cables. With the subwoofer facing the floor, powerful bass is achieved by the downward release of sound from the speaker unit and port. The unit also achieves clear sound thanks to a high-strength casing that reduces the influence of vibrations.
Optimum sounds from a tabletop or wall mount
The HTB900 and the HTB700 can be configured for either tabletop or wall-mounting. Thanks to a slant of approximately 7° sound is directed to the ears at the best possible angle for an expansive, room filling effect.
Design
Less is perfection
Beautifully designed with minimalism and purity, the HTB900 and HTB700 effortlessly complement today’s televisions and by ensuring the viewer is immersed in the images and sound they help provide the optimal entertainment experience.
The metal mesh grille on the HTB900 and the fabric grille on the HTB700 create an elegant contrast by combining materials with high-quality matte, gloss, and hairline surface textures.
Connectivity
Chromecast built-in
The HTB900 comes with Chromecast built-in, which allows users to easily stream their favourite streaming music services, radio or podcasts from a smartphone or other mobile device. Since the data is streamed directly to the soundbar from the router there is no degradation in sound quality and with support for High-Resolution Audio listeners can enjoy the best-possible sound quality. Using Multi-room sync with Chromecast built-in speakers, the same song can be played in several rooms, or different music can be played from room to room, for multi-room entertainment.
Say the word – works with the Google Assistant
If a Google Nest Device or other voice-activated speaker with the Google Assistant can be used to operate music playback and other features. Voice commands can be used to play podcasts and streaming services, such as Google Play Music and Spotify.
Panasonic Music Control App*
Using the Panasonic Music Control App with the HTB900 lets the listener build a playlist from music on their phone, tablet or music server. Using this app will give even better sound quality and better control of music.
