Panasonic Announces New Firmware Update Programs for the LUMIX G Series Cameras: G9, GH5S and BGH1

7^th October 2021 - Panasonic has announced that it will release new firmware update programs for its LUMIX G Series mirrorless cameras to enhance the functions and usability. The firmware program version 2.5 for DC-G9, version 2.2 for DC-GH5S and version 2.3 for DC-BGH1 will be available to download from the LUMIX Global Customer Support website on 4^th November 2021.

Panasonic is committed to addressing further to enhance the G Series line-up and performance of conventional Micro Four Thirds mirrorless cameras and lenses through firmware updates as a prominent value-added service.

The cameras and the programs to be updated are as follows:

GH5S Firmware Version 2.2

RAW video data can be output over HDMI to save Blackmagic RAW on the Blackmagic Video Assist 12G HDR.

• V-Log L or Rec.709 is selectable on Live View monitor during RAW output.
• Shooting assist functions including V-Log L View Assist, WFM (Wave Form Monitor), Vector Scope and Zebra Pattern can be used during RAW output.

* DaVinci Resolve or DaVinci Resolve Studio is required to play back and edit Blackmagic RAW data. DaVinci Resolve Studio is required to deliver projects using Blackmagic RAW data in resolutions over 3840x2160.

BGH1 Firmware Version 2.3

RAW video data can be output over HDMI to save Blackmagic RAW on the Blackmagic Video Assist 12G HDR.

• V-Log L or Rec.709 is selectable on the external monitor through SDI during RAW output.
• Shooting assist functions including V-Log L View Assist, Luminance Spot Meter, and Zebra Pattern can be used during RAW output.
