Panasonic LED Lights - Change Lights at Prague Castle

Panasonic LED Lights - Change Lights at Prague Castle

While the original beauty remains unchanged, operation is much more economical.

Panasonic conducted a "Change Lights Campaign" at Prague Castle, a World Heritage site in the Czech Republic. The campaign involved changing about 10,000 traditional (incandescent) light bulbs to LED lamps. Panasonic's unique clear LED lamps have kept the historically beautiful appearance of Prague Castle completely unchanged while dramatically lowering the cost of maintaining and managing this World Heritage site. *Panasonic concluded a strategic partnership agreement with the UNESCO World Heritage Centre on 3 June 2011 to promote sustainable development through World Heritage conservation and environmental education for the next generation.

About the "Change Lights Campaign" in Japan

Panasonic has been conducting an ecological campaign at tourist spots and traditional events across Japan since 2007 to encourage people to replace ordinary light bulbs with energy-efficient LED lamps in order to raise awareness about global warming. Working with local communities, Panasonic took the campaign to Kiyomizu Temple in Kyoto, the historic villages of Shirakawa-go in Gifu Prefecture, and Itsukushima Shrine in Miyajima, Hiroshima Prefecture.

Shirakawa-go

Vintage houses in the historical village
Panasonic brought the "Change Lights Campaign" to Shirakawa-go, one of Japan's World Heritage sites, where it changed incandescent light bulbs to LED lamps.
Shirakawa-go is a region along the Shogawa River Valley in the mountains of Gifu Prefecture. It is famous for its solid houses built in the gasshozukuri architectural style. The historic village was added to the list of World Heritage sites in 1995.

Itsukushima Shrine

Unchanged scenic beauty from 12th century
Panasonic also carried out the "Change Lights Campaign" at Itsukushima Shrine, a World Heritage site, by changing incandescent light bulbs to LED lamps.
Itsukushima Shrine is one of Japan's most beautiful and unique shrines. Scenically located on the sacred island of Miyajima, it is particularly famous for its "floating" torii gate. The shrine was added to the list of World Heritage sites in 1996.

Nostalgic design, warm lighting

All the advantages of LED lighting – long lifespan, home-friendly lighting and immediate light – have been incorporated into an award-winning clear design that reminds us of the beauty and warmth of traditional light bulbs. The result is the Panasonic LED Nostalgic Clear lamp. Unlike fluorescent lamps, this LED lamp reproduces the exact lighting atmosphere and nostalgia of traditional (incandescent) light bulbs. Another big advantage is that you will have 100 percent light the very moment you turn on the lamp.

Years of eco-friendly use

On its way to becoming the No. 1 Green Company in the electronics industry by 2018, Panasonic has thought of what you really want and need, like an energy-saving lamp that is actually attractive and provides a genuinely warm light. There are several eco-friendly features that speak for the Panasonic LED Nostalgic Clear lamp:
• Energy and cost saving by needing only 7W of energy to produce 40W of light
• Up to a total of 40,000 hours of use – 40 years at 2.7 hours a day – compared to approx. 1,000 hours for traditional and 2,000 hours for halogen lamps
• Instant full brightness within 1 second after being switched on
• No dangerous chemicals such as quicksilver or mercury
• Fewer insects and less discolouration thanks to low UV/IR and heat radiation
• 2-year guarantee

LED vs. Fluorescent lamps

You may already be using energy-saving lamps at home and most likely they are the fluorescent type (in other words, CFL). Now, Panasonic offers you a new kind of lighting experience. LED-type lamps (in other words, ESL) provide the same warm feeling of light as traditional light bulbs, refrain from the use of harmful chemicals and immediately light up 100 percent when switched on. The new Panasonic LED Nostalgic Clear lamp even goes a step further to offer a classic, attractive design.

A range of LED lamps for every need

Warranty

The complete range of LED lamps for private use is covered with a 2 years warranty (based on an estimated daily use of 2,7 hours).

A leader in lighting

The Panasonic Lighting Company is the world’s fourth-largest manufacturer of light bulbs and the number one provider of LED lamps in Japan. Thanks to its expertise in lighting, LED and innovation, Panasonic can offer LED products that have been specially designed to accurately reproduce the look and feel of traditional light bulbs, the LED Nostalgic Clear, as well as a range of high-performance halogen LED lamps.
