Enjoy applying virtual make-up to the face after shooting. Aesthetic Retouch applies various effects to the face, including clearing the skin texture, lifting up the face, whitening the teeth, and so on. Make-up Retouch offers various colors for foundation, lips, cheeks or eye-shadow.

The LUMIX GF8 lets you release the shutter with your left or right hand, or even ‘hands-free’. This brings you to the next level of selfie expression.

Take pictures when faces are in close proximity or when your face is once covered with a waving hand. Or release the shutter by simply jumping in mid air.

Dual Shutter Button

The Fn1 (function) button provides an extra means of releasing the shutter when holding the camera in just your left or right hand for selfie.

Buddy Shutter / Face Shutter

Buddy Shutter mode works when two people bring their faces closer together. Face Shutter mode is activated merely by covering your face with a waving hand.

Jump Snap

Whether the smartphone is in your hand or pocket, it detects the highest point of your jump and releases the camera shutter at that point.

You’ve taken some great images with the LUMIX GF8; now you want to show them off. You can instantly upload and share your pictures on social media using the ‘Panasonic Image App’ on a smartphone or tablet. Sharing shots when browsing on the camera is also quicker thanks to a direct uploading capability.

Superb Picture Quality in a Sophisticated Design

The LUMIX GF8 does not compromise on image quality. A large 16-megapixel Digital Live MOS Sensor offers high resolution and high sensitivity picture recording with less image noise. Working in conjunction with the Venus Engine, clear, smooth nighttime images are consistently achievable, even up to and including the maximum ISO 25600 setting.

Fast and Precise AF

The LUMIX GF8 boasts a high-speed, high-precision Light Speed AF system including practical full-time AF and tracking AF. Low Light AF makes it possible to focus on subjects more precisely in moonlight with no other light source. It lets you take images of children or pets without shocking them with the flash or AF Assist Lamp.

Silent mode also turns all sound (AF, operation) off while suppressing the emission of the AF assist lamp.

Scene Guide

Simply select from 23 pre-optimized presets to use the one that most closely matches your shooting scenario and let the camera automatically select the ideal settings to deliver the best result. Portrait, Child, Scenery modes, which are often used, have respective shortcuts on the dial.

Creative Control

With a variety of filter effects, Creative Control lets you add artistic and original expression to photos, panoramic photos and videos.

Rec. Setting Reset Button

If a recording setting is changed accidentally, pressing the Rec. Setting Reset button will restore the camera to its factory settings.

Full-HD Video Recording

The LUMIX GF8 boasts Full-HD 1920x1080 high-quality recording in AVCHD Progressive and MP4 formats with stereo sound, ensuring smooth results.
