The newly developed LEICA DC VARIO-SUMMILUX lens features F1.4-2.3 outstanding brightness at 24-90mm versatile zoom range (35mm camera equivalent). This stunningly bright lens is the extraordinarily rich amount of light can give impressive expression to the image by reproducing exquisite gradation.

Also, the Panasonic's black box technology Nano Surface Coating boasts extremely low reflectance ratio and it is applied to the DMC-LX7 for exceptional optical performance with stunning clarity by minimizing flaring and ghosts.

Wide Dynamic Range

The 1/1.7-inch 10.1-megapixel*1 MOS Sensor that features improvement in S/N ratio by 1.5 dB compared with the predecessor DMC-LX5*2. The result is a high resolution image with stunning clarity not only in high sensitivity recording but also in low ISO setting reproducing rich gradation with the exquisitely wide dynamic range even when the situation is highly contrasted.

Aperture Ring
for Intuitive Operation

The external design is improved to control the rich light source that the DMC-LX7 can gain. A newly equipped aperture ring allows direct, intuitive control of aperture.

Creative Control
with 16 Artistic Effects

The popular Creative Control mode is incorporated to the DMC-LX7 by adding 2 exclusive filters – Radial Defocus and Smooth Defocus in addition to Soft Focus*, Dynamic Monochrome, Impressive Art, One Point Color, Cross Process, Low Key, Toy Effect, Star Filter*, Expressive, Retro, High Key, Sepia, High Dynamic, Miniature Effect** mode to be 16 in total. The Radial Defocus adds defocus effect radially from the light source while the Smooth Defocus makes the defocus figuration even smoother. Some parameters in each mode can be also adjustable.

Controlling the Exposure with an Internal ND Filter

The internal ND filter makes it possible to reduce the light to use slower shutter speed by 3 steps. It allows opening aperture to get visible defocus even under sunny outdoors while suppresses halation or using slower shutter speed to express the flow or splash of water.

Full-HD Video Recording

The DMC-LX7 records high-resolution full-HD 1,920 x 1,080 60p (NTSC) / 50p (PAL) videos in AVCHD Progressive (MPEG-4 / H.264) format. Upgrading the full-HD recording capability from interlaced to progressive, subjects with fast motion or fine details are reproduced even more clearly.

The DMC-LX7 can also record full-HD 1,920 x 1,080 30p (NTSC) / 25p (PAL) videos in MP4 format. This format is suitable for editing videos on a computer or uploading those to websites.

Level Gauge

The Level Gauge detects the horizontal / vertical angle of view with its internal level working with the acceleration sensor. This is helpful to keep horizontal composition even when shooting in high or low angle.

3.0-inch 920K-dot Monitor

The DMC-LX7 has a 3.0-inch large 920K-dot high-precision monitor with a field of view of approx. 100%. A wide-viewing angle lets you frame your shot in a variety of ways for both shooting and viewing. The Intelligent LCD function also automatically adjusts the brightness in 11 steps according to shooting conditions.

iA (Intelligent Auto) /
iA Plus Mode

In the iA (Intelligent Auto) Mode, the camera does all the work, leaving you free to compose shots and capture moments in both photo and video recording. In addition, the iA Plus Mode enables you to adjust defocusing area, exposure compensation and white balance by just moving the slider.

Multi Exposure

The Multi Exposure function lets you take up to three exposures in a single frame. You can layer subjects that wouldn't ordinarily appear in the same frame for an artistic effect, or make one subject appear two or three times in the same frame.

Rich Options for
Expandability

The DMC-LX7 offers a wide variety of options to choose from to match every shooting situation and shooting style. The hot shoe on the top accepts the optional tilt-shift Live View Finder (DMW-LVF2) of approx. 0.7x*, 1,440,000-dot equivalent, 100% field of view, which ensures comfortable monitoring even under the strong daylight.
