Comparative performance test between artificially aged and factory fresh shavers
Shave as closely as day one – 5 years on
Panasonic commissioned ipi Institute für Produkt-Markt-Forschung GmbH to conduct the objective measurements of the shaving quality with 3,5 and 5 years aged versus new shavers (tested model Panasonic ES-LV67). The study concluded that no differences can be found between the factory fresh and the artificially aged shavers in any of the conducted measurements: shaving time, closeness of shave, skin gentleness and skin irritation.
The results of the study are also applicable to ES-LV69, ES-LV97, ES-LV6U, ES-LV9U, ES-LS6A and ES-LS9A due to identical construction and materials (referencing to the shaver blades).

Test set-up at the central location, ipi Institute
A panel of Panasonic and competitor brands premium electric foil shaver users (N = 28) shaved with both, artificially aged and factory fresh shavers, using the split face method.
Objective measurements of shaving time, (pre- and post shaving) closeness, skin gentleness and skin irritation on four designated spots: cheek, neck, chin, corner of the mouth.
