Athens
Greece, August 16th, 2004
Mark
has traveled to Athens with Panasonic
and is providing daily updates of
the events and happenings around Greece.
So
Ive gotten my official accreditation
from ATHOC, the organizing committee
here in Athens. They gave me this
little manual that explains where
I can go and where I cant
go in and around the Olympic
venues. You know what? There are no
less than 150 different categories
of accreditation and classification.
The amazing thing is that when you
go to check into a venue, every one
of the official gate and entrance
people who actually check you has
to know all of the different accreditation
combinations. Whos allowed in?
Whos not? But theyre doing
a phenomenal job here. There are no
big lines. Things are going very efficiently.
One
thing Im doing everywhere I
go, is Im carrying all of my
Panasonic gear, including my official
D-snap SV-AS10. One of these was given
to all of the U.S. athletes that marched
in the opening ceremony. Im
sure lots of them will be using these
devices to take shots of Athens and
the Games. Ill be doing the
same thing with mine, and maybe Ill
post a few images here for you to
see.
Until
next time, this is Mark, signing off.
