Superb Mobility & High Speed Response
Be ready to grab the next sudden shutter opportunity. Adding a dedicated linear motor in the focus system and new DFD (Depth From Defocus) technology* to the conventional Light Speed AF has achieved both higher precision and greater speed at approx. 0.09 sec**. This combines with a 0.66 sec quick start-up time and 12 fps burst shooting in full resolution to turn those once-in-a-lifetime moments into memories that last forever.

LEICA DC Lens
The new LEICA DC VARIO-ELMARIT lens was created especially for the DMC-FZ1000. It has an F2.8 - 4.0 brightness that resists blurring even for telephoto shots, and an angle of view that extends from 25 mm wide-angle to 16x optical zoom*. Comprising 15 elements in 11 groups, including 4 ED lenses and 5 aspherical lenses with 8 aspherical surfaces, this advanced lens unit achieves high MTF value. Adoption of 5 aspherical glass lenses achieves beautiful, evenly smooth defocus with invisible edge line, which is made possible by Panasonic's unique aspherical lens mold technology.

1-inch, 20.1 Mpx MOS Sensor
The FZ1000 captures crisp and clear images with minimum noise even when shooting photos at ISO12800/extended ISO25600 thanks to the newly incorporated 1-inch High Sensitivity MOS Sensor. Because of its large size, the sensor processes a very high amount of light and helps producing impressive defocus shots.
Advanced Venus Engine Processor
The newly developed Venus Engine features multiple noise reduction systems such as Multi Process NR, Random Filter and Aperture Filter to achieve high color reproduction and high image quality with natural description. The combination of the High Sensitivity MOS Sensor and the Venus Engine Processor gives you stunning picture quality that goes beyond the limits of digital compact cameras.
Macro Shooting (3 cm)
Stunning macro shots can be taken with a minimum focus distance of 3 cm. You can enjoy shooting close-up shots with the DMC-FZ1000 to express the spectacular details of flowers, insects, etc.
World's First* 4K
Video Recording
The DMC-FZ1000 features 4K video recording capability (QFHD 4K: 3840 x 2160, 30 fps in MP4)** and ushers in a new form of photo creativity by letting you cut out 3840 x 2160, 8 Mpx equivalent images from 4K video footage to capture spur-of-the-moment shots that
are often missed with ordinary still photos.

Stereo Zoom Microphone
Your videos can have high-quality, highly realistic Dolby® Digital stereo sound. The Stereo Zoom MIC features a zoom noise reduction system, and the Auto Wind Cut function blocks most background noise caused by wind.
With the DMW-MS2* Stereo/Shotgun MIC, you can adjust the sound gathering characteristics to match the shooting situation.

Smooth 5-step Zooming
The 16x optical zoom is available in video recording, too. You can control the zoom operation to match the shooting situation in 5 steps from low to fast, for smoother zooming. The advanced image stabilizer HYBRID O.I.S.+ is integrated to effectively suppress hand-shake vibration, even when shooting with the high-powered zoom.
5-Axis Correction /
Tilt Correction
The HYBRID O.I.S.+ (Optical Image Stabilizer) with 5-axis correction* gives you blur-free, one-handed video shooting. It detects and compensates for the camera's 5 types of movement – horizontal, vertical, axis of rotation, vertical rotation and horizontal rotation.
The Level Shot Function* detects the image's horizontal line and maintains it even if the camera is tilted; taking stable video even in high-angle or blind recording.
* HYBRID O.I.S.+ and Level Shot Function do not work in 4K video
recording.
High Speed Video in Full HD
You can record high-speed videos at 120 fps* in Full HD quality, capture scenes that cannot be seen with the naked eye, and play them back in dramatic slow motion.

Time Lapse Shot
Leave the camera for stationary recording of subjects such as astronomical observation, flowers coming into bloom or slow moving clouds. The series of consequential images can be combined to produce a time lapse video.
Linear Motor Focus System and
Light Speed AF with DFD Technology
The FZ1000's newly integrated liner motor into the focus system achieves approx. 275% faster* focusing compared to previous models. The new DFD (Depth From Defocus) technology also shortens the time to set focus. It instantaneously calculates the distance to the subject by evaluating 2 images with different sharpness levels. As a result, ultra high speed AF of approx.0.09 sec** is achieved.

Fast Shutter Speed (Max. 1/4000 sec)
A high shutter speed at max. 1/4000 sec (at wide-end) / 1/3200 sec (at tele-end) enables you to capture spur-of-the-moment, fast moving subjects. You can open the aperture even outdoors (Max. 1/16000 sec) with an electronic shutter reducing washouts even under strong sunlight.
Burst Shooting (12 fps)
High speed burst shooting can be shot at 12 fps in 20.1 Mpx full resolution. Together with the quick start-up of approx. 0.66 sec and short release time lag, the DMC-FZ1000 never lets you miss those fleeting shooting opportunities.

Free-angle LCD
The DMC-FZ1000 boasts a 2,359K-dots OLED LVF (Live View Finder) that assures stable framing and superb visibility even at high magnification and under strong sunlight. The OLED display achieves a high-speed response with minimum time lag while enhancing the resolution, as well as 10,000:1 high contrast for superior colour reproduction; and, the free-angle 921K-dots LCD also enables artistic framing.
Low Light AF
The Low Light AF is incorporated making it possible to set focus on the subject more precisely in situations such as moonlight, even without the AF assist lamp.
Pinpoint AF
Pinpoint AF allows you to set magnification from 3x to 10x, enabling you to set precise focus on the target area while seeing the whole image composition.
Remote Shooting / Viewing
With the "Panasonic Image App", you can utilize a smartphone / tablet as controller to zoom, set the focus and shoot from a distance.

Manual Ring
The manual ring, which is comfortably operated by the left hand, can also be switched for use in zooming and focusing, providing natural, intuitive operation.
Focus Peaking
The Focus Peaking function shows the peak of focus in MF and AF+MF modes. It is also available in remote photo / video shooting with a smartphone / tablet via Wi-Fi®.
Highlight / Shadow Control
Highlight and shadow can be adjusted to achieve desired images without the use of image processing software. 3 patterns of settings can be customized in addition to 3 preset patterns (Higher Contrast, Lower Contrast, Brighten Shadow).
RAW Data Development in Camera
The DMC-FZ1000 is capable of developing RAW image in-camera. In addition to the colour space setting (sRGB / AdobeRGB), the parameter of white balance, exposure compensation, contrast, highlight / shadow, saturation, noise reduciton, sharpness or hue can be adjusted while applying LUMIX's Photo Style, Intelligent D-range Control or Intelligent Resolution.
Optional Accessories
To offer more flexibility, the DMC-FZ1000 complies with External Flash (DMW-FL580L), Stereo/Shotgun Microphone (DMW-MS2) and more. The expansive flexibility of the DMC-FZ1000 goes far beyond the limit of a conventional bridge camera.

The 4K Photo* leverages the camera's 4K video recording capability and cuts out a 3840 x 2160, 8 Mpx equivalent image from the 4K video footage**, enabling users to capture spur-of-the-moment shots which are often missed in still image photography. Once the 4K Photo mode is entered, the luminance level is adjusted to 0-255, which is suitable for photos. You can also choose your desired aspect ratio (4:3, 3:2 or 16:9).
